Lying ten miles inland of Sicily's southwest coast and perched among the hills of the Arigento province, Sambuca di Sicilia is a small commune blessed with a perfect terroir. Using ripe but balanced grapes, the winemakers matured this Syrah in oak for eight months to develop its character.

This was surprisingly good. Just as well, it was reduced. I decanted for 30 min, the berry and peppery taste just lingered.
