Bought twin pack on the 6th September to wear two days a week on PE days, so each shirt is worn one weekly. Shirts have only been worn 12 times each as of writing this on 29th November. Followed washing instructions to the letter using the shirt wash on our Miele washing machine in a operate wash. Sadly the Velcro fastening no longer fastens securely at the top which is the area where its needed most as my daughter wears a tie. Great idea but the velcro needs to be more robust or perhaps wider so it has more grip.

OMG what a fantastic product. Well done M and S for producing such a good product. Special Needs child found it so easy to get dressed.

Amazing peice of school uniform for children who stuffle with buttons. I would definitely recommend them and I hope they keep these as it really does help .

I bought this a few months ago, without realising the whole length at the front was velcro, not a single button hole, only noticed when our 4.5 got dressed for her first day at school. Such a disappointment, the velcro is fiddly to close (more difficult than buttons in my opinion) and doesn't stick, it keeps opening for about 10cm from the neck down despite being under a dress (can't imagine the nightmare with a skirt). It might be of some use for some but not a shirt for mainstream. Apart from the velcro, the shirt is fine, but that velcro ruins it for me. I will not buy again and definitely don't recommend.

These school shirts are a godsend for my granddaughter,as she suffers from sensory processing disorder.that means she diesn5 have any strength in her hands to open buttons so the Velcro is amazing. Well done marks and spencer you are the only shop That stocks these school shirts.

I bought these a few months ago but don't think we'll buy them again. The quality and value for money is great, the fit is good (M&S) err on the side of generous which is great. The elasticated cuffs are super. Where the shirts coiuld be improved is the velcro fastening. It's not clear from the photos or the description (which says button fastening) but there's actually velcro fastening from top to button behind the buttons so you don't use the buttons. It sounds great esp if you have children whose fine motor schools are still developing. BUT warning for parents of children with ASD, the velcro fastening is tricky to line up so for those children where lining up is important, these are a problem. After a few washes, the velcro starts to go so when the child stretches the velcro comes open. My 9 yo child didn't like this at all. So be warned. Great idea, some parts excellent but some real flaws for us.
