I have the gore tex version of these and they work great and are super comfortable! I run in them most days both on and off road and they are my go to shoes. My wife doesn’t love the look but supports my admiration of function and I personally really like how they look! Great shoes and excited to get more!

This is a simple review... I wore a hole in my old pair after 5 years of constant abuse. Ready to abuse my next pair which seem to have better ankle to heal support. My feet love them.

The Salomon XA PRO 3D V9 is hands down one of the best trail shoes I’ve owned. Super comfortable, excellent grip on all terrains, and the quicklace system is a game-changer. Perfect fit, durable, and stylish enough for everyday wear. Highly recommended!

Not as shown

The pair I just received does not have any reinforced lace eyelets (the upper 2) as pictured on the product page. My previous pair did, and the eyelets that were not reinforced were the first part of the shoe that wore out. Very disappointing.

Three pairs in recent years

This was my first move away from a full hiking boot and it's been liberating. I've had one Gore-tex pair and two mesh ones. My last pair, only a year old, are worn on the soles and the mesh has torn a bit where my toes bend. They seem a bit cheaper than earlier pairs but it may be that I've worn this pair on concrete more than previous pairs. I use them for walking, hiking, and a little trail running. I use an old pair for clamming in very heavy clay/mud and even thought they're completely worn out, they protect my feet nicely and clean up nicely with a hose and a good spray of water. I've moved away from the Gore-tex because I like how quickly the mesh airs out and dries.

I wear these and enjoy the comfort. I normally wear other brands and can’t wear them everyday because of the time it takes to get comfortable in them. But the 2 pair of Salomon’s I own make me want more.

Love the shoe, but it fits a bit tight in width
Originally posted on salomon.com
I generally like Salomon hiking shoes -- I've worn out several pairs over the last few years. I like everything about this except it fits too tightly in the width near the toes. I ordered the same size (Men's 13) that I always do. I am continuing to wear these, hoping they'll stretch enough to be more comfortable.

I tried really hard to love this shoe but the forefoot/toebox are just too narrow and I am not a fan of the quick laces because I just can't seem to get a good fit with them. I did like the medium lugs as I think these will be good for Michigan

This is maybe my 6th pair of these shoes and I don’t know what or why they changed them but these are really uncomfortable. I’m walking flat footed in them and the size is bigger than the last ones I’ve owned of the same size. My feet hurt at the end of the day. Really bummed as these have been my go-to shoes for a few years now. Can’t say I’ll be buying another pair.

Oversized
Originally posted on salomon.com
Nice looking but I had the exact same size shoe (11.0 Mens) for years in this model and rebought the same size (11M). It's about 0.5-1 size larger so I've had to add two additional inserts to "fill" the shoe so I'm not flopping around in it.

XA Pro 3D on the Camino

I purchased these for our Walk in Spain on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. We walked 150K with backpacks and now have close to 500K on the shoes. I have much less post treking pain than the previously used shoes and highly recomend them for long treking both urban and groomed hiking trails. As this is a cooler summer shoe, I have not used them all winter and missed them on my feet. On today's spring walk, it was good to be back.

The Salomon XA PRO 3D V9 stays true to its legacy as a reliable, all-terrain trail running and hiking shoe. With its reinforced 3D chassis, it provides exceptional stability and support, making it ideal for technical trails. The Contragrip outsole offers outstanding traction on various surfaces, whether wet or dry, while the Quicklace system ensures a secure, fuss-free fit. The breathable yet durable upper enhances comfort for long-distance wear. While the shoe is slightly stiff compared to softer trail runners, it excels in durability and protection, making it a solid choice for those who prioritize stability over a plush ride. Perfect for hikers, ultra-runners, and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a rugged, long-lasting performer.

Not a fan…what's changed?

I've worn these or similar style in the past and they have been great…mine are not sized correctly, narrow in the toe box and pinches in the mid foot laterally (feels like I have a pebble in my shoe) . The lacing in the forefoot may be part of the problem, I am not sure why it comes up to the base of the first toe, that is probably why there is a pinching. I recommend you wear them around indoors for a while to see how they fit. Unfortunately, I took mine outside right away.
