Very comfortable!

Very comfortable, with really good grip! The drawstring laces really help lock the foot in. The only downside is that they do make my feet sweat a little bit more than other shoes I own.

Very comfortable for daily use, durability iffy

I previously wore the X Ultra 3 and loved them. Very comfortable and durable. However, the fit changed with the 4 and they now don't seem to offer an option without Goretex. I'm a sweaty guy and Goretex doesn't breathe like I need it to. I really like these as a replacement, but the soles seem to wear out faster than the X Ultra 3. Additionally I find my toes are more likely to touch the front of the shoe if I don't have the laces on tight. No big deal, but something to keep in mind if you're on hilly trails.

Used for 100k hiking trip

Bought these trainers for a 100k hike in the Canadian Rockies and they preformed perfectly, no blisters even with only getting 15k in them to break them in beforehand.

Fantastic for hiking long distances over days.

I bought these initially in the wrong size, and Salomon let me return them and order a different size. I have been hiking regularly for years, and I normally suffer very badly from blisters etc despite doing everything in my power to avoid them. With these I got none at all over a challenging 3 day hike. Would strongly recommend. I have narrow feet with a high arch and these are perfect.

Great fit with a catch

The lacing system makes these the best for fit. So that's 5 stars. However, durability is a one star, since I've had to purchase 8 pairs in the past 4-5 years. The fabric wears through, even on the gore tex version.

At least as good as the V8's

This is my 3rd pair of XA Pro 3D shoes. I saw some reviews stating they were not as comfortable or sizing changed. My experience is that I'm finding consistency in comfort and sizing. A USA size 12 is still fitting like the old 12 and comfort is not compromised. I will continue buying as long as the shoe quality and durability does not waiver.

I recently purchased a pair of Salomon hiking shoes and couldn't be happier. They offer incredible comfort, excellent traction, and reliable support on all types of terrain. Whether I'm hiking rocky trails or walking through wet conditions, they perform flawlessly. Highly recommend for anyone looking for durable, high-performance footwear!

Doesn't change

One thing I love about the XA Pro 3D is that Salomon doesn't change it every year! Built on the same last for years. I've probably been hiking in this shoe for 25 years (not the same pair, obviously, I've owned at least 15 pairs at this point.) The perfect balance between stability and light weight, great for steep technical trails, peak bagging, etc. I use it for backpacking in the summer as well.

Love the pull tab to tighten instead of normal laces. It works really well. The shoe is very comfortable and is stylish enough to be worn to the office or on the trail.

This is probably my third pair of these that I've ordered, haven't had any reason to try another brand as no complaints over the past 5+ years I've had Salomon XA Pro 3d shoes

I have the gore tex version of these and they work great and are super comfortable! I run in them most days both on and off road and they are my go to shoes. My wife doesn’t love the look but supports my admiration of function and I personally really like how they look! Great shoes and excited to get more!

This is a simple review... I wore a hole in my old pair after 5 years of constant abuse. Ready to abuse my next pair which seem to have better ankle to heal support. My feet love them.

The Salomon XA PRO 3D V9 is hands down one of the best trail shoes I’ve owned. Super comfortable, excellent grip on all terrains, and the quicklace system is a game-changer. Perfect fit, durable, and stylish enough for everyday wear. Highly recommended!

Not as shown

The pair I just received does not have any reinforced lace eyelets (the upper 2) as pictured on the product page. My previous pair did, and the eyelets that were not reinforced were the first part of the shoe that wore out. Very disappointing.

Guia de Tallas Equivocada
Originally posted on salomon.com
No, I don't recommend this

Three pairs in recent years

This was my first move away from a full hiking boot and it's been liberating. I've had one Gore-tex pair and two mesh ones. My last pair, only a year old, are worn on the soles and the mesh has torn a bit where my toes bend. They seem a bit cheaper than earlier pairs but it may be that I've worn this pair on concrete more than previous pairs. I use them for walking, hiking, and a little trail running. I use an old pair for clamming in very heavy clay/mud and even thought they're completely worn out, they protect my feet nicely and clean up nicely with a hose and a good spray of water. I've moved away from the Gore-tex because I like how quickly the mesh airs out and dries.

I wear these and enjoy the comfort. I normally wear other brands and can’t wear them everyday because of the time it takes to get comfortable in them. But the 2 pair of Salomon’s I own make me want more.

Love the shoe, but it fits a bit tight in width
Originally posted on salomon.com
I generally like Salomon hiking shoes -- I've worn out several pairs over the last few years. I like everything about this except it fits too tightly in the width near the toes. I ordered the same size (Men's 13) that I always do. I am continuing to wear these, hoping they'll stretch enough to be more comfortable.
