Good but could be better
Yes, I recommend this
There's nothing wrong with this item, It's good fun. However I believe it might only be a matter of time before we loose the wooden stick to play the xylophone. Wish it came on a string attached or had a clip holder.

Not up to M&S's usual standard
No, I don't recommend this
I bought this for my grandson but tried it out before giving it to him luckily. It looks lovely and traditional but it just does not work. There's only one short stick with no head to it, and it's really hard to get any sound out of the keys with the stick, you just get a feeble tinny clang. It is also terribly out of tune. I'm sad to write this because I usually find M&S items to be well-made and good value, but something has gone wrong here.

Cute but out of tune
No, I don't recommend this
Coming from a musical family we were delighted to recieve this beautiful xylophone for our babies first Christmas. It's a lovely traditional style, and we like the fact that it doesn't matter which end of the beater our little one hits the keys with. However, there is a major flaw...it is not a true octave scale! The two shortest notes are barely a semitone different and the largest note is flat. For many this might not matter, but musical education starts young in our house and sadly this is not particularly helpful.
