Excellent skirt, reminds me of COS / Arket
Yes, I recommend this
I love this skirt! Despite what the other reviews say, I think this skirt is excellent, especially for the sale price of £14. It reminds me of COS / Arket, and I love the material - like a shiny, umbrella material. I don't like how M&S styled it on the model, but it looks fab with a really oversized jumper with trainers.

Works for me!
Yes, I recommend this
I knew I was taking a chance on this skirt given the negative reviews but the price was so good and a black dressy skirt is so handy. First of all, my figure is very boyish and I think that works best in this skirt. The subtle balloon look actually gave me curves. The material is unusual and a little starchy, which means it holds its shape. Bottom line, I really like it. It's a bit edgy and different. It's a fantastic bargain for me. Risk it!

Awful!
No, I don't recommend this
Oh dear M&S; what on earth possessed your buyer to actually think that someone would buy this, let alone wear it, skirt. It's absolutely AWFUL. I wonder if your buyers are actually in touch with what a typical woman wears these days, as this skirt and fabric is very poor. There is nothing fashionable about this item and would be better placed in a tent shop as a sleeping bag holder.

Stylish Fashion Staple
Yes, I recommend this
Agreeing with previous feedback. Wonderful fashionable summer staple, it literally jumped off the rail at me suffocated by its surrounding rather unfashionable summer 18 collection. Fit is a little wide to waist and hip area and so not a flattering as it could be. I have since had my skirt altered at the waist. M&S, please more of these design driven fashion classic pieces, you are missing out on a huge market.

Oh dear. I was excited about the taffeta, the lightweight fabric and the potential. Took it home to deliberate on the right way to wear this. Looked awful when on - most unflattering around the midsection. Toyed with the idea of removing the second tier stitching, but the weightlesness of the fabric would make it look even worse, as a previous reviewer stated correctly - binbag. Back to store it goes. Very disappointed.

Comical
No, I don't recommend this
This skirt is hilarious. How on earth did this pass through any design stages! The elastic twists inside the waste band on first try on and is impossible to realign afterwards. It’s huge and unfaltering. I thought it looked really cool online but in quite a timeless way but the reality is totally bonkers. I’m a fairly standard size 10 and 5 foot 8 so can carry off some statement looks pretty well but this!!!! I wouldn’t wear it if you gave it to me! Honestly dear M&S please stop trying to please everyone and just make beautiful stylish clothes again that we can wear and enjoy for a few years. I couldn’t care less if you have to charge more but please bring back the quality I remember when I was in my twenties (twenty eras ago!)

Nice fabric, shame about design!
No, I don't recommend this
I love this fabric (similar to umbrella material) - it’s unusual and quirky. I bought a skirt in navy last season which was similar, bought 2 in fact - but it was so much better designed than this. I’m glad I tried this on instore rather than ordering online. Nothing works in this design - the waistband is too chunky and the wide elastic twists around inside the casing. It’s just not a good design - I was so hoping it would look as nice as the navy skirt I bought last season, but apart from the fabric and length, this has no redeeming features. It puffs out in all the wrong places - even the smallest derriere would look enormous. It’s also a real oddity in the store alongside all the traditional and classic clothing - it’s a bit steampunk! Nothing wrong with that, but if you’re going to push the boat out like this, do a whole section in the store to draw people in or be part of a proper campaign?

Bin bag!
No, I don't recommend this
This skirt has to be seen and felt to be believed as it is indescribably awful. It feels like the thin nylon stuff bag I use for my sleeping bag and it rustles when you move. Needless to say it looked dreadful when I tried it on. I wish I could find something positive to say but words fail me.
