Senior Girls' Skinny Leg School Trousers

I bought the 11-12 years which should be for a height of 152cm. My daughter is 150cm and these were way too short...at least 8-10cm. The next size up we’re massive round the waist for her. What’s gone wrong with your sizing on these M&S?

My daughter is wearing these at the moment but the next size down, they have worn really well. They are still in good condition but as she is growing I chose the next size up but they were too large. Although these are a skinny fit the waist, although adjustable, seems to be still too large, she has to have it adjusted as far as possible which means that the back of the waist band is fully gathered with spare material and she has two bands of the adjustable elastic sticking out which she has to tuck in. It doesn't bother her too much as she usually wears a blazer over the top but I would have thought that a skinny fit would reflect that fact and have a smaller waist. I wouldn't, for example, buy these for a plumper child due to the skinny fit label so would also expect the waist to be skinny fit. She is just 'normal', not skinny. I would still buy these again as it is the only style she likes and the pockets are good, just got to wait for her to grow a bit more.

A very well tailored pair of trousers with the all important adjustable waist. I wouldn't call them strictly skinny- perhaps somewhere between straight and skinny. A roomy skinny fit. The length was questionble hence only 3 stars for fit. The length of the 15-16 was hardly any longer than the lenghth of the14-15 which is the reason I returned the 14-15 in the first place.

looks nice as such and my little girl would have liked it but as so many reviews said it's far too short. I had to return it hence. don't know how many reviews need to say the same thing before the company changes the product

After reading reviews of these trousers being perfect on petite, slender youngsters I was hopeful about them fitting my eleven year old. Alas, although decent quality, great in length and only slightly big around the waist they were too loose on the leg for my daughter, back to the drawing board unfortunately!

As a guide to others... I have purchased these school trousers(style T761291), size 13-14 years and have measured the inside leg measurement to be 27inches. Not true to the M&S size guide of 29 1/2 inches Waist is true to size with adjustable elastic. Nice pair of trousers but too short in the leg for my 12yr old daughter.

Shockingly poor fit on these trousers. Although fitting in length, even with the waist pulled in as far as it would go, these were still too large on the waist and a poor fit round the hips and leg. After a terms minimal wear, my averagely proportioned thirteen year old daughter has out-grown these in length, while they remain far too big everywhere else. In hindsight should have returned them rather than assuming mu daughter would grow (outwards!) into them!

Lovely material and size around the waist unfortunately there too short my daughter is 11 and very thin so needs adjusting with the waist they won’t fit her for long as they are too short in the leg thanks regards Leah

These trousers are great for girls as they like the modern look but they are practical for school

Bought these for my 13 year old daughter for school. She likes the style although she says they are a too bit low on the bottom (low rise). A lot of the reviews said they come quite short on the leg, I bought age 12 for my daughter as, although she is average height and build, she has fairly short legs for her height. So the length of these was okay for for her but I don't think they'll last long. I will probably have to buy the next size in a few months so I do think they come up a little smaller than other brands, as all her other trousers are either 10-11 or age 11-12 and fit well. I would recommend them but would say to check sizing before taking labels off!

I should have followed the advice on the other reviews as these trousers are too short in the leg for my daughter. I measured her inside leg to make sure I was ordering the correct size as per the online chart but even so, when she tried them on, they are significantly too short in the leg. So difficult to find trousers for my slim daughter as most that are long enough are too big round the waist. What is even more frustrating is having to order, return and re-order trousers as there are never any in our local store to try on.

I do not like these trouser's the length of these trouser's are very small and wide they are not skinny as shown in the picture. The waist is quite wide however as it has the stretch then it's fine. I recommend please have different long length's because i am very tall girl and i can't fine good fitted trousers.

Very pleased with these trousers - the second pair I've bought, as they are good quality and fit very well and the price is reasonable.

I first bought 3 pairs of these trousers in September and as they have worn and washed well I bought 2 more pairs so my daughter has a clean pair for school each day. She is very fussy about her trousers, having tried almost every other pair M&sS sell was only happy with the fit of these! These are stylish but still conform with school dress code. They are just the right length with nothing to let down when she gets taller, so along with many other reviewers, I would urge M&S to do more leg lengths please.
