Bought in the sale when price was lower so with that in mind it was good value (not sure I would have paid the full price for a child considering it will be grown out of quite quickly). However it is a quality garment which will be perfect for warmth on days when a coat is too much but sweatshirt not enough. It has a Sherpa type lining. I would say go up a size - even on a very slim child was a snug fit, would be tight on a child of sturdier build.
