All the thrills of Formula 1 racing await young motorsport fans with this incredible LEGO Speed Champions Ferrari SF-24 F1 Race Car (77242) toy for 10 plus year old boys and girls. This Ferrari toy features details from the real-life car that competed in the 2024 Formula 1 season, and kids and adult car collectors can build, display and race with it. The F1 toy car features a cockpit that opens by lifting the halo bar, a rear wing, wishbone suspension, sponsor stickers and wider rear tyres imprinted with Pirelli. The race car model also comes with a LEGO driver minifigure wearing a Ferrari outfit and a winged helmet to place inside the cockpit and stage races. This LEGO vehicle can be created using the printed building instructions or on the LEGO Builder app, which will guide you and your child on a fun building adventure. LEGO Speed Champions sets let racing fans build models of some of the world's most iconic vehicles, including other Formula 1 cars (sold separately) from the 2024 championship season. Although an adult I had my first attempt at building a Lego Technic model: The dazzling looking F1 Lego Ferrari. I can’t deny, I found all the little pieces and thick instruction manual a little overwhelming at first. However, with the aid of an experienced enthusiast the whole experience was a breeze although there was the odd tricky puzzle piece to solve. I found the magnified diagrams on each page together with the pieces I would need for each step particularly helpful and felt a real sense of achievement when it was completed, even though it is aimed at 10+ and I am in my sixties! My tips for a newbie would be to take your time, ensure each step is completed correctly and take breaks to avoid eye strain. I now feel more confident in building future models with my grandchildren. I felt a great achievement when I saw the final result and particularly loved the little Lego man model.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Enjoyed building this , the instructions were easy to follow. It was frustrating at times as you’d click one piece in and then another piece would break. Maybe a little tool like tweezers would be good ? Would definitely purchase another one.

It is only 275 pieces, but the process of building was very fun and I think it turned out great. The stickers get a little annoying but there weren’t too many and without the stickers they wouldn’t have looked as good. I’m very happy with this set!

My eldest daughter in neurodiverse and followed the ones online instead of on paper - I loved this extra option. We then spent ages racing it around our kitchen island 😂

Looks really good, instructions great and fun to build. Airbox design is pathetic and lets down the whole car, just sits in and held in by 2 bits that move and black camera bar on top moves constantly and whole thing wobbles. Whoever thought that was a good design on this one should be ashamed, all the other cars look well designed just this one.

The product came with extremely clear instructions and pieces in labelled bags which made it very easy to find. My husband had previously tried another small non LEGO brand and found it really difficult but was amazed at the difference in quality and ease of assembly with this LEGO product. It took approximately 3 hours to do but we are novices. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and made us want to try others. Would definitely recommend, it was very relaxing too!
