This set was a tedious but fun build! There is certainly a lot of value per piece and when it all comes together, it looks positively stunning - the 3D aspect of it is really cool and each tiny detail makes it come to life, resembling the real artwork. So cool!

I like the look of this set a lot. It has built in catches for me to put hooks in the wall to hold it. Also, the podcast element of it was cool. While I built it I got to learn more about the real life art.

Something Different

Overall this was a great build my only real issue with this build was the numbering of the bags. There was multiple of the same number and Im not entirely sure as to why, also some bags weren't numbered at all which was kind of confusing. I do love the colors, wall art aspect of it, the soundtrack while listening as you create. I appreciate all the effort that went into this creation and look forward to more.

Very fun build, frame really pairs well with the picture itself. One of the best "art" builds in my opinion.

Im an AFOL, I love the build and then the displaying of my LEGO sets. I'm a slow builder, using it as a form of mindfulness when the world around me seems a little crazy, this build took me just short of 3 months, I literally do a few pages a day or every other day or week. Its a simple build but very therapeutic, it was so nice to see how each layer came together to make the Great Wave, great use of some unexpected pieces (the bird pieces) to create the 3d effect. Its amazing to look at, its hung on my wall with a box frame that I made to prevent dust build up. A truly remarkable piece, if you love Japanese art then this is the piece for you.

My worst build

I really want to love this one. It’s pretty, but back parts don’t stay connected. My centerpiece doesn’t stay connected to the frame. I have other Wall Art Pieces and didn’t have an issue with them. So I was very disappointed with this.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the back parts and the centerpiece are not staying connected. This is not the experience we aim for, especially if your other Wall Art sets worked well. Please reach out to us at LEGO.build/Service or give us a call so that our experts can take a closer look.

I loved making this Lego art set. It looks beautiful when done. I found the frame tricky to put together but I got there in the end. The canvas is secured in the frame with the brown clips which makes it secure. I can’t wait to display this on my wall.

This was fun and easy to build. It moves really fast with a minimal level of frustration. Beautiful finished product that I actually want to hang on my wall.

Not Quite

Two big problems arose with this build; one that is specific to my legos, the other with the design. The first problems was one of my large Lego pieces was warped, so I could not attach another piece to it. Luckily, it didn’t cause a problem in the long run, so I’m just accepting it rather than going to the bother of asking for a new one. The other problem was when it came to attaching the frame to the picture. The “pushpin” action on the back of the frame makes no sense considering one side of the pins don’t actually secure to the frame (literally what even is the point). Because of this, they aren’t secure, and getting the picture secured without popping the pieces off the back was an utter nightmare. I feel like there was a very simple solution to this, but whoever designed this set didn’t realize the problem and so never fixed it. But truly, the design is so flawed that not only did it make my building experience in the last chunk irritating, but I do not feel it safe to hang up the picture since it feels as if it would be too fragile to stay together. I’m very disappointed. I LOVE legos and have wanted this set for years. All they needed was a few extra pieces to avoid this and it would have been great…

Sorry to hear building The Great Wave set hasn't gone how you expected, we understand your disappointment. The pins should lock into the technic holes in the picture frame which makes it secure. Please reach out to us at LEGO.build/Service-BV so we can give you a hand troubleshooting and send a replacement for your warped piece. We'd love to help you hang up your masterpiece!

First time that I have tried to build something of this size and it was easy to follow the directions. Absolutely love how it looks and can't wait to hang it on the wall. As soon as I was done I had to get another to join it on the wall!

I had a great time assembling this project! The directions were easy to follow. When I finished there were 7 flower shapes that looked unfinished because there wasn’t a piece to cover them. However there were 7 white discs that were extra pieces from each step left over, and I used them to make it feel more complete. Thanks for that!

This piece was fun to build and is beautiful to look at every day. I hung it on the wall in our master bathroom and get to see it every day. We are taking a trip to Japan this year and will get to see Mt. Fuji in person.
