Great traction, waterproof, comfortable!

Great shoe all around! I’ve worn these shoes hiking in the Rocky Mountains with slippery conditions. Great traction! I wear them day to day now as well because they are so comfortable with a supportive footbed. Slight chunky heel for fashionable day to day use but appreciative of this feature when hiking rough terrain. Fits true to size. Worn with hiking sock.

I usually buy Speedcross but these were on sale so I thought I’d give them a try. Wore them in the house and seemed fine. Unfortunately they do not work for me. These runners fit wide, clunky and hit my ankle bones. So disappointing.

From the moment I put the shoes on, they felt awesome. They are stable even though they are a lower cut shoe, which is perfect for the hiking on uneven ground. They do not feel stiff even though they are waterproof. I love these shoes and excited to take them on my trip to Oregon!

Trail Comfort Straight Out of the Box

While still a huge fan of Brooks Cascadia’s trail runners, the Salomon Elixir Activ has become my new favorite shoe for long backpacking days in the mountains, and my go to for 50 lb rucks on and off road. The Salomon Elixir Activ have been the most comfortable shoe I have ever warm straight out of the box. So much so, I wear them at my hospital job where I’m on my feet 14 hrs a night. These shoes went from the box to a road ruck with a 53 lb GoRuck pack, and eight miles. My feet never got sore, and there were no “hot spots” As an active person who is picky about their shoes, these shoes are a must have. I highly recommend the aforementioned product, and look forward to trying other products. I’m currently testing the new Salomon water shoes for hiking, as many of my multi-day hikes involve many water crossings.

Extremely comfortable on the first wear, managing a 12 mile walk without any issues. Excellent comfort underfoot , no rubbing or discomfort anywhere on the foot. Went for a size 4 and they fit perfectly. The only issue I had was aching ankles - I normally wear boots and missed the ankle support. Good grip on dry grassy ground, coped well with stone track, flexible enough and foot stayed perfectly in the shoe. Loved the bounce of the sole, which kept me going. Very pleased with the shoe and happy with my choice!

Just tested these this morning on my walk and they are extremely comfortable. I like the fact this brand comes in half sizes. Important when you need to wear a thicker walking sock

LOVE my Elixir Activs!!!

After months and months of searching for all-day comfortable shoes, I finally found what I was looking for in the Elixir Activ!. I had worn Salomon X crests for years, maybe decades, but found the new pioneer version to be clunky and slow, and I was struggling with the quick lace systems, gender inclusive (too much volume for me) and two-fiber inner soles on the lastest hiking models! BUT FINALLY, after trying many brands, I realized Salomon made a women's lace up-and the are JUST PERFECT. Great for hikes, great on the pavement, can walk all day in a big city and hike on trails! I bought multiple pairs I loved them so much. Right amount of foam cushion in soles--stiff enough for stability, but soft on aging joints. Normal laces I can custom fit and tie. Wide wall stability stops pronation/supination. I just can't say enough good things about these shoes! Thank you Salomon! I hated the thought of having to give up on you and now i don't have to!

Good shoe minor issues

Had for a few weeks they are comfy but they make a weird noise around the toe box when walking. Wish they would make a whole shoe in this style that is has the top material in dark and the sole in dark colors because it is a trail shoe and it will get dirty light colors don’t work. Not women like girly colors and would appreciate non girly colors too that match all outfits like black and grey please make one in darker colors. Pressure points on sides of lower heal if worn for long hours walking hoping it will go away as they break in.

Very comfortable after long walks and good traction on slippery stones. After reading reviews, I ordered my regular shoe size 7.5. Usually, in a running shoe I size up but decided not to and they fit perfect. There is plenty of room in the toe box and they hold my feet in place. Nice and sturdy.

Very comfortable after a VERY LONG shift. Very light weight. My feet did not hurt at all. The problem is it is not slip resistant. But I brought another pair still. Very good looking shoes

Very disappointed with these gore-tex shoes (mine are orange ones). Got in rain and my socks were wet and feet cold:( Though they are light and comfy, but the fact they are not waterproof ruins everything:(

From the minute I put them on they were extremely comfortable. I’ve done at least 50 K in the first week and not a sign of anywhere whatsoever. I have done all different types of trails are soft buggy and feet were still dry. Highly recommend.

Have had the shoes for just about a month and have used them mostly for walks with the dogs in the PNW where we are entering the rainy season. Have had zero wet or cold toes. Also using for soccer practice on the wet turf and grass. Excellent. Now that we are in the rainy season I am wearing them almost every day.

as usual, sizing is erroneously off and off-putting--why the inconsistency with this company? Hassle to return for improper consistency.

Unfortunately although these are waterproof, the colours are very light and so walking through wet and muddy fields/ paths will make them look awful quickly. I also felt the price was high for shoes, compared to the higher cut boots format.
