Purchased it for my wife, an OAP and thank goodness likes it very much, always a problem when ordering on the basis of small, medium or large and only having her regular size of 14 to go by. As it happens I ordered a large that fitted well but I have noticed in the past year or so that ordering with M and S can be a bit hit and miss when it comes to size. Only thing wrong with this order, it came with a different hood than the one shown on the model, however the wife was not bothered about the detachable hood and so I left well alone. The wife says it is warm and nice to wear, so can count it up as a success.

The website was easy to use as I am 68 years of age and sometimes struggle finding what I'm looking for. This coat arrived within four days (weekend included) of ordering and the quality and sizing is top-notch. I can wear an extra jumper beneath it comfortably. Ten-out-of-ten M&S!!!

I was looking for a practical coat and didnt really find it. Coat not as warm as expected for a winter coat. Pockets could be better designed: has top opening front pockets which aren't comfortable or safe from wet weather. Needs inside pockets to be more practical.

Loved this coat as soon as I took it out of the bag. Fit a wee bit snug but fine - the size 14 was good for me as a definite 14 - and so warm that you don't need big bulky jumpers underneath anyway. Looks good too and does not make you look like a michelin man. In fact work colleagues rated it cool and for a lady over 60 that's a compliment. Worth every penny.

Great coat, had to size up to fit a larger bust but it's really windproof and keeps you toasty warm. Can't comment on waterproof effectiveness as I chose to stay indoors in my pajamas instead of trudging through the rain! Slight annoyance is that if you remove the hood there is a button part way down the back which long hair gets tangled on.

Unforunately the large is very large and the medium is a bit small, I went for the large and its not too bad but if I lose weight in the New Year as I am planning it will swamp me. I would say the medium is 12/14 and the large is 16/18.

Thought this would be a great winter coat, description suggested it would be lovely and warm, padded and ok in the rain. It feels thin and not great quality. The fur trim feels really cheap and horrible. I bought my daughter a parka from New Look for half the money and it feels much better quality. Ordered a much more expensive coat online, irritatingly had got 20% off this one but had to pay full price for the other one, hope it pays off. This one will be returned this week.

I ordered this parka coat online. Looks good in pictures but bit disappointed when i had it in the flesh. Gud fit feels warm,but not tried it in the rain as yet. The colour says in description BLACK, but more like a navy blue??? As u can tell against black boots. Cost of coat a bit steep in price. If i shopped in store i would not of bought it. Delivery was great 1day fantastic!!!

Spent ages looking for a new coat and had decided didn't like the parka look or furry collars. Until I tried this one. Tried the cream/off white on and also a black one in the Classic range. Helpful assistant came to my rescue, we both agreed that the colour black suited me best. However, I preferred the Per Una parka, it's warmer, nice knitted cuffs give a snug fit and just looked better.The assistant then found the Per Una coat in black (I hadn't spotted them). Unfortunately, my size wasn't available so ordered one on line. But that was no problem and it was delivered in record time. The only con is it is a bit narrow on the hips but need to lose a bit more weight (so far 6 stones)!

Wonderfully warm Winter coat

This will certainly keep out the worst UK weather. I would have liked a fuller + more fluffy fur trim to the hood. The elasticated inner cuffs are very generous to the point of becoming loose after owning the coat a short time. I find the double ended zip sometimes tricky to work. Loving the warmth + the fact that it is waterproof. Would have found an inside pocket useful.

Wanted a coat rather than a jacket for the colder weather. This coat is both warm and has Stormwear (so presumably showerproof, but hasn't rained since I bought it). Perfect for standing in school playground, going to work in etc. I am a size 10 or 12 depending on fit, and I bought the medium. Small would have been a better fit I think, but the medium gives me plenty of room for extra layers, and the waist draws in so you can give the coat more shape. All in all I am very pleased with this coat.

Bought this jacket online without having seen it in store. Fabulous jacket - good fit and the hood is a good size - not like some hoods that come over your eyes and it can tie under the chin if its windy. I like the fur trim too. A nice cozy jacket - just perfect for standing waiting in the playground for my grandchildren coming out of school. Well done M & S!!
