Demi Ankle Strap Sandals

These strap of these shoes is a very poor design and poor quality. You have to cross the strap at the back of the foot, loop it around the front of the ankle and then fasten it at the side. As you step forward, the strap is pulled forwards by the leg and tightens at the back, trapping skin within the cross at the back. This isn’t helped by the fact that the shoes are very heavy - think the same weight as sturdy brogues - so this pulls the straps tighter as you pick your foot up. After wearing these shoes to a wedding, despite not dancing, my ankles were covered in blisters from where the strap had pulled and I discovered that one ankle had been bleeding and my heel was covered in blood. It wasn’t even possible to cover the wounds with plasters because these also became caught up by the strap and were quickly pulled off. The strap itself feels flimsy and frayed quickly. It feels like it will snap after a few wears from the tensions and weight of the shoe. I’ve only fastened and unfastened these shoes 3 times but the strap is already beginning to fray, making it difficult to push the frayed end through the buckle and thread it into the retaining rings. After one wear, I’m afraid I’m returning these shoes for a refund.

Although these looked the part the heel of the shoe seemed too weighty ,also there were two problems with the strap ,it hardly stretched around my ankle even with a little adjusting ,also the holes weren’t aligned they were too close to the edge of the strap and would I feel break easily if worn for any length of time.

Brilliant price for such nice shoes! Once undoing the strap they fit great and are going to be my new favourite holiday shoes!!
