The styling of this coat is really very good; the fabric is soft and hangs well. I like its lived-in look (it creases slightly) which might not be to everyone's taste. Sized for a looser, slouchy fit, it works buttoned and belted as well as open and fluttering. The length is in proportion to the fit, it falls below mid-calf on my 5'7/size 10 frame. It is fairly lightweight so perfect for blurred seasons; not too bulky to carry over the arm, but roomy enough for layers below. A trench coat should look like it has stories to tell... feels like a classic.

disapointing
No, I don't recommend this
After reading the reviews they said it was too big. The only size available was my size 12. When I opened the bag it wasn't even in a protective bag for £89 I thought it was bad. It's supposed to be neutral but it had a hint of green to it and it looked shiny probably something to do with what ever they coated it to make it waterproof. As for being oversized I tried it on with thin jumper and I didn't find it big in fact if I had had a thicker one on it would have been tight and I am a slim 12. I had to return it and even the assistant said it was poor for the money. Neither did I like the hemline they could of used a lighter coloured thread that didn't show so much. Perhaps I'm just picky - or am I .....

I bought this after seeing the other review as I had been given some vouchers for M & S The fit for a tall woman is short (Just below the knee and I am 5 feet 10 inches tall) I wanted to cover my Midi Dresses I tried going down a size but the bottom half was huge and the bust tight The Material and Sleeve length good ,the worst part was the belt loops which came up so high almost level with my bra line and was not a good look for me Marks and Spencer's you need to cater for Taller Ladies as you do for Petite Ladies!

My faith is restored!
Yes, I recommend this
This is a beautiful trench coat, the quality, style and fit are all very good. It is also (for me at 5'9") a really good length. Having fallen out of love with M&S previously, this has gone a long way to restoring my faith!

Lovely looking trench mac.

Very good quality, great fabric and colour. Normally take a size 10 but this was huge in every way. I realise the style is unfitted and 'slouchy' but the sleeve length and general sizing overall was far too big. Opted to purchase the shorter trench coat which I love and is great value for money.

First review in ages had almost given up but this?
Yes, I recommend this
I used to buy lots of my wardrobe from M&S but recent years felt drab and just not quite right. I was reading Grazia Magazine this month and saw this raincoat and just had to order as it looked so stylish. Classic, long length just like the Burberry trench in the 1980's. I was right about my instinct and the price is unbelievable. ordered online and delivery two days better than past history had to try it on straight away with neutral court shoes. It's a very stylish item and very well made thanks to Grazia for guiding me towards it I love it! Only downside is if you are short as it is quite long which I like I am 5 foot 7 and size 12.

Love this season mac recommended by new personal stylist. Great length, colour and detailing but too big, so have ordered smaller size.

I ordered this beauty online right away when I saw it. True to size, 12 always fits me. There's a beautiful silky shine in it and it's stylish. Although the colour looks brighter on the web site. It's a bit greenish, not beige.

Great Coat
Yes, I recommend this
I have always avoided trench coats as I prefer single breasted coats without a belt. However, I have been looking for a long waterproof mac for a long time and tried this on by chance in store, thought about it and then purchased it on line. The length is perfect for me and there are very few long coats around at the moment. And it looks very smart even my husband has commented. All in all I am delighted and it was a pleasant surprise to find a trench coat that I like. It is also extremely good quality material and good value for money.

Great trench!

I bought this trench coat on a whim - such a good find. It's smooth (almost silky) to the touch - comfortable to wear, a great midi-length (on my 5ft9in frame), and just looks great on. This will be my late-Summer coat of choice. Great if you get it with the 20% off too.

I ordered this on the advice of a stylist. It looks absolutely great with the other pieces she recommended. Great value for money with 20% off. Well done M&S

nice mac

Mac was a lovely length, colour and quality but the ties around the wrists made the arms very tight, unfortunately they were buttoned so it was all or nothing, and without these the coat looked wrong, so i returned it

Cotton Blend Trench Coat with Stormier
Yes, I recommend this
I have been looking for a traditional trench coat for over a year, and, having bought one "that will do" last autumn, I was thrilled to find this by accident last week. I knew from the moment I unpacked it that it would be perfect. A little darker than I expected, but that does not worry me. I have taken my own size, 12, and, as described, the coat is roomy, but it will allow for a heavier jumper later in the year. At 5'6" I find the length, for me, is excellent sitting just below my calf. The fabric itself is not too heavy and the garment is fully lined. Perhaps best of all is the fact that the buttons are well positioned ensuring that the front does not blow open in the wind which has been very useful this week! A back vent completes this traditional Trench Coat. Well done M&S for coming up with a simply styled Trench at such an excellent price.

Not worth the money
No, I don't recommend this
At last I thought I had found what I have been looking for during the last few years - a lined mac in a longer length. What a disappointment when this rather shapeless, courless coat arrived. The colour is not at all flattering to a typical pale English skin. It is made of a thick rather ugly fabric and there is no fluidity in it at all. It is like a man's trenchcoat. Please Marks can you give us the fabrics of yesteryear - soft to the touch and with a chic drape to them. Surely that's what most women want - something feminine looking which is also practical. I will carry on with my search............

Well-made classic
Yes, I recommend this
This is a quality, classic trench in a neutral bone colour (not too yellow, orange or brown the way many are). Looks more expensive that the price point would suggest. I'm 5'4" and it's almost full length. My usual size swamped me all over so I went one size down and it fits perfectly. Well done M&S - these well-made wardrobe staples at a fair price point are exactly what we want from you.

Whats not to Like?
Yes, I recommend this
Middle of Summer and yet I couldn't resist this classic ever stylish trench! Ok, probably looks best if you are on the taller side which suits me fine! the buttons and belt buckle are classic and add class. The back split makes this easy to walk, although well below the knee in length. I ordered a 14 thinking I would need extra room for a sweater underneath in the Autumn, unnecessary ...this coat is roomy and my normal size 12 was plenty large enough, if worn any larger the style of this trench is lost. Love the nonchalant style of this great classic trench.
