Blogger, mum of two and go-to style muse for more than 70,000 Instagram followers, Zoe de Pass is a true ray of fashion sunshine. Here, she shows us how to master this season’s bold colours and prints – feel-good factor guaranteed
Colour yourself happy“This is such a great summer dress. It’s pretty, flattering and puts me – and anyone in my company – in a happy, sunny mood.”
“I love colour and often find myself being a beacon of brightness among London’s sea of black and grey. For me, it’s an easy way to boost my mood – but I understand that for some, going for bold is a step too far. Granted, not all shades of the rainbow suit everyone, but I do believe there’s at least one colour that will look amazing on you. It’s just a case of finding it.
“The good news is, all things bright and beautiful are a huge trend right now – so if you’ve been toying with the idea of stepping out of your colourless comfort zone, then this is the time to experiment. Amazing tropical prints and Havana-inspired hues make it an exciting time to be playful with your look.
“The summer calendar is brimming with opportunities to be brave with your wardrobe choices, be it a friend’s wedding, a garden party or a day out at the races. Even if you don’t have an event to attend, usually the fact that
the sun is shining is excuse enough (at least, it is for me).
“If you aren’t quite ready – or willing – to go super bold straight away, then ease yourself in. For example, if you wear a lot of navy blue then crank it up a few shades and try a cobalt tone instead.
“If you don’t like colour against your face, go for a bright trouser and plain top. And if you’re truly committed to black, spice things up with a print like the jumpsuit I’m wearing [].
“Colourful accessories and jewellery are another great way to add some fun to an outfit. Try big statement earrings and contrasting colours or prints, and don’t be afraid to experiment and mix fabrics, trends, smart and casual – anything goes.
“The most important thing with any outfit, whatever the shade, is that you like it, wear it with confidence and always accessorise with a big smile – because life is just too short to wear boring clothes.”
