I would recommend this hat if the colour really was burgundy as it looks on line. It is in fact definitely purple. The size is slightly big so will cover ears in winter. I will keep it but am disappointed with colour.

such a shame I had to return this - I bought it to wear with a new M&S coat of the same colour. It's one size with extra material gathered into the back with elastic and it looked very odd on my 56 cm head.

This style is particularly good in slightly windy conditions - more formal hats don't stay in place - but still smart enough to dress up. I particularly like the fact that although it isn't a rainhat, the odd light sprinkle of rain doesn't harm it. The colour is good, a perfect match for trousers, jacket and shoes, all bought at different times, so the outfit I was aiming for is now complete.
