Archie Curved Floor Lamp

Looks well made and has a nice brushed steel finish... bought two and really pleased with the overall look as is modern and not cheap looking like some floor lamps I've looked at. Has a heavy marble effect base, so is very sturdy.

It sits perfectly next to my armchair and has transformed my sitting room. Looks far more expensive than it is

Have been looking for a lamp like this for a long time but upon putting it together, realised it was way shorter than expected, and not as imposing as had hoped for! I obviously didn't read the product detail but expected it in my mind to be around 180cm (6ft) tall but the arch tops out around 5ft with the lamp head around 4ft tall. The marble base looks great however and is high quality. Finally, from an environmental point of view, there was way too much boxing and cardboard used by M&S - surely this could be reduced.

We bought Archie for our daughter's birthday, and it was fitted up yesterday. It's a lovely, stylish lamp, at a very fair price, especially when purchased with a 20% discount! No real problems assembling it, but could do with more space beneath the marble base to allow the spanner to tighten the nut connecting the upright to the base. I wondered what the marble base would look like, but it is a classy item, and my daughter (who is very fussy!) is delighted with it.

Loved the look and quality of the product but I was after a lamp to put over a chair and the actual light shade sat too low.

Expecting m &s to be fit for purpose, this lamp definately isn't. The base is too sturdy for the flimsy copper tube stand so it doesnt stay upright. Came without instructions also. Phoned customer services who couldnt help as their tech. Dept were away for a week. All in all extremely disappointing. Hoped for more from this company.

I had previously purchased two Archie lamps and wanted to have more in the house that matched these originals. Unfortunately the finish has been changed and they are now a brushed finish instead of bright. This wasn't stated on the website so sadly they will have to be returned.

Ok, so I'm really not sure if we actually like this lamp.... It's really top heavy, and the initial putting together of the lamp was a nightmare. It is stylish, but not sure if it looks quite right, and we don't dare move the lamp in case it falls over. We had a voucher for M&S so decided on this, maybe we will learn to love it. But not over impressed.

Looked at reviews and on balance decided to buy this floor lamp as I like the design and have seen a number around but this was well priced and its M&S so usually a good bet on quality. We have no problem with flat packs and put lots of items together no problem. This lamp comes with a useless spanner that doesn't fit to tighten the nut at the bottom, so make sure you have your own. I saw other reviews saying it is top heavy - it is and did not sit well and seemed shorter than the measurements. Took it back the next day to M&S for full refund.

This lamp looks very smart when you eventually manage to assemble it. It is not difficult even though the instructions are terrible. However the one connection that really needs to be tight is very difficult to do as the design is so bad. You are provided with a spanner which you cannot use as there is not sufficient room to be able to turn it in any meaningful way. After quite a battle you will eventually get there but the design of the base connection is truly awful. Also there is no bulb provided which is quite annoying as it does not take a standard type bulb.

Easy to put together without instructions (3blank pieces of paper instead) looks great in my living room! Others comments state it’s too too heavy but this is not the case the base is incredibly heavy and sturdy!

Lovely looking lamp but its top heavy. We didn't have the will to try to get it back in the box after assembling it. The base needs weighting down.

Has made quite a feature in our lounge.

Lovely lamp. Poor instructions which were diagrammatic. In this case it was not sufficiently clear. The bowl of the lamp is bigger than it looks in the picture. Sizes would have been helpful. However now we've built it it looks great!
