Good but misses the mark

So.. i had high hopes for this Jacket but i am diapointed it is not as warm as it looks or feels. I have many jackets and i have warn this a number of times in cold condtions and always been cold. sadly this is no match for a down jacket, even my rab microlight alpine jacket feels warmer than this jacket. if i need a big coat this is not the one i would choose. spend a little more and go for somthing with real down. I do like the style and fit is nice so its a shame. Omni heat! looks pretty not sure it helps

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] overall happy with the parka after second season. after taking to Germany & Austria and then blowing snow for an hour I'm still warm. only issue I've come across is after a few weeks of wearing, a zipper broke off and I can't zip up a pocket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this and a different jacket for my partner for christmas, both in large. The other one fit like a glove while he was essentially swimming in this one. He really like it though, but def size down. He's 6 feet and 195 lbs.

I purchased this product in April of 2025 at the end of the winter season. This year weather conditions in South Western Ontario warranted my trying out this new parka. Conditions are 16C, feels like -27C with blowing snow and breezy wind. I went for usual walk, cleared snow from our car, and shovelled the driveway. I was wearing a T-shirt, long sleeved shirt, Helly Hansen hooded jacket under my Columbia parka with a toque, hoods up. Based on prior experience with a Columbia hoodie with special heat reflective treatment, I was expecting to be toasty warm in my new parka. I Am Disappointed inasmuch as I felt cold across the upper back and shoulders. With the “OMNI-HEAT” lining, I had expected to feel warm and comfortable. I was not. I had specifically chosen this parka as I like to be out in winter conditions shoveling snow, snow-blowing and helping neighbours. For now, I will have to use my light weight PAJAR jacket (which I adore) as a LINER for my COLUMBIA parka. As an active senior, I was expecting better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the coat 2 or 3 years ago. I love it. The only problem that I have is my thyroids when they act up in the coat becomes too small. So interested in getting one size up every time I look at 1 size up there gone. I would love to get the one size up. So I can have the coat to wear. If my thyroid flair up or not, it is a wonderful coat that keeps me warm and dry. I would recommend it can't do the down Sinus issues, there's always something

serious design flaws

For reference: I have 3 winter jackets - this coat, a Marmot down parka, and a Columbia Pike Peak. This jacket has a few major annoyances - the collar is very abrasive and stiff, the hood is also uncomfortable and poorly designed, there is not a waist drawstring - they put it at the bottom where it restricts your leg movement. The coat is physically heavy but surprisingly not very warm - my Pike Peak weighs half as much and is equal in warmth. My Marmot weighs half as much and is easily twice as warm! I was hoping this coat would be a day to day replacement for my Marmot as it's synthetic filled and I figured I could wash it often. Reality: I really don't like wearing this coat at all, and will give it away at the end of this winter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Parka was a perfect fit - It is lighter than my previous Parka (from a different company), yet it is also much warmer. It has plenty of pockets for any items you might need to stick into them. I highly recommend it !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful color, purchased for my 14-year-old son and he absolutely loved it. I was hesitant because it is a heavyweight coat and he doesn't like big jackets. However, upon receiving it he tried it on and said it didn't feel so bulky and it was incredibly warm. He got it just in time for some below zero weather in Chicago and he said he was pretty warm whenever we were outside. He also liked the fur on the hood he said it deflected some of the wind and that was a big plus.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket in order to wear at the 2025 Rose Parade which I knew would be a rainy day. I wore a T-shirt underneath for my upper body and nothing more. This parka kept 100% dry and warm the entire time. The jacket is heavy but very comfortable. I purchased a 2XL as I am 6’1” and 255 lbs and it fit perfectly. I am happy and satisfied with my purchase.

Coat is warm but the colours are not the same as depicted. The darkgreen is not as dark as in the image and the coat is a lighter green overall.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as an early Christmas present for my husband. He's always chilly in the SF bay area, and we're heading to chicago next month. So i wanted to make sure this jacket worked for him. Though the size chart suggested a S for him, I know he likes to layer up so I ordered the M for him. He loves it. Its the warmest jacket he's owned to date. And its stylish.

Heavy duty
Originally posted on columbia.com
I chose this jacket because it was the one where a lot of reviews said it was toasty warm. They were right! My last Columbia jacket was fairly lightweight because it was activewear, and it wasn't very warm if I wasn't active. This one is heavy duty all on its own. But because of the reflective lining, it actually can get too warm if I'm very active, like shoveling snow. The size is perfect per the fit guide on the site (I normally wear L, but they gave me M). I like that the hood is removable. I don't usually like hoods, but it's easy enough to put back on if I need it. The fur is removable, which is good because I could hardly see through it. There are no pockets on the inside, but there is a plethora of pockets on the outside. It's long, which makes it warmer, but I have to bend over to zip it. Fortunately, it's a two-way zip, so I can unzip it a little if I need to sit down or bend over. I always unzip it upward a little. And the zipper is heavy duty. On my last coat, that's the part that failed. Pretty sure that's not going to be an issue here. I expect to use this coat for a long time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Men’s Marquam Peak Fusion™ II Hooded Parka is an absolute winter workhorse. It’s incredibly warm but still lightweight and comfortable. The insulation traps heat well, and the water-resistant exterior held up great through cold rain and wet snow. I really appreciate the hood—it’s deep, structured, and actually stays in place when it’s windy. The design is clean, modern, and flattering without being too tight. Plenty of pockets, all practical, and the zippers feel solid. After wearing it in freezing temps for several days, I’m genuinely impressed with the performance and build quality. This is the kind of coat that makes winter a lot more bearable.

Nice & warm but zipper & pocket situation lacking
Originally posted on columbia.com
Just received and tried on. While jacket appears to certainly be warm enough, the lack of a double zipper is a no go. Love the length but can't sit down without hiking the jacket up or else it puts too much strain on lower end of zipper. Also, for all of the outside pockets, there is not even one inside pocket for a wallet or phone. Both are dealbreakers for me.

Super Warm
A superb jacket - as an XL I bought that but had to take it back as it was way too big, the L is ideal - unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to try before buying as it’s only available on line. The store was great with the return though. It’s super warm - it was -2°c this morning and I went out with a T-shirt, jumper and this jacket and I was lovely and toasty. So far only been out in showers and it’s been fine in that too. Definitely recommended.
