My main considerations were quality and materials used - style was not a criterion for me. Regarding materials used, I looked for garments containing Modal (a type of Rayon), as this is known to be a material with a very soft feel - and it resists washing mashines quite well (in my experience, cotton tends to shrink). Looking at the chemicals used in its production, Modal cannot be claimed to be an environmentally friendly material - by any stretch of the imagination... I selected size "small" (my waist size is 30.5 inches, just above the belly button). I fitted into these shorts with no difficulties at all, but the elastic at the waist is a bit more snug than I would like - I suspect this is a matter of choice and the elastic will, in any case, slacken with use. Since there is also a drawstring at the waist, the elastication seems a bit redundant... Everywhere else, the shorts are perfect. When I get a second pair of these shorts, I may go for a "medium", although this will generally be a bit too big. With regard to colours - you can have black, black or... black! I purchased the shorts online, but there were difficulties using the M&S gift card I got for Christmas. I collected the top in-store and sorted out the gift card payment there. The shorts fit well (subject to my comments about the elastication) and are very soft and stretchy - I would definitely recommend them.

I have already purchased 2 pairs of these pyjama shorts. These were brought as I thought they would be discontinued and I wouldn’t get any more. They are super soft and very comfortable in bed. I also think they look stylish.
