Active Skin 8 Running Vest

I’ve put the Active Skin 8 through real use — a 50K ultramarathon, a 20-mile long run, and even dirt bike riding — and it’s been rock solid every time. It stays snug with zero bounce, is comfortable for hours, and makes it easy to stay hydrated without breaking stride. On long runs it disappeared on my body, and off the trail it still held up perfectly while riding, dust and all. If you need a vest that can handle serious mileage and high-output days, this one delivers.

This year I decided to start trail running and get into the Ultra trail race community. After alot of homework amd speaking to runners I decided to go with the Salomon Acrive skin 8. Multiple 50ks amd a 100k I was really happy with fit and function. About to buy a second one!

I’m 6’ 2” 170 lbs 41” chest and ordered a medium. Wish I had ordered a large. If you’re right on the line of 2 sizes, order up. With soft flask only it just barely fits. With flask and bladder it’s too small. Everything else about the vest I like.

Just finished a 1/2 marathon and couldn't have done it without this vest.

I bought this vest about a month ago after my partner already had one. It is perfect for my trail runs and the extra room for layers or fuel in the back is wonderful to have on long runs.

I bought this for a hiking trip and barely felt like i was carrying anything.

I got this vest for my partner. She loves it. It’s her first running vest and it is exactly what I’d expect from a Salomon running vest (I’ve had a few and have been using them for years). But the soft flasks??? Why these small openings? How am I supposed to get electrolytes or other things into the bottle through such a small hole without making a mess? I can’t even drop my precision electrolyte tabs in there. It’s the kind of thing I’d think someone who’s used running vests would notice right away as being a terrible idea (like I did). I still like the vest, just scrap these small openings on the flasks.

I've been using this vest primarily for long runs during my marathon training and it's perfect for holding water, gels, phone, and an extra layer. For all of the features, it breathes pretty well so I don't mind wearing it on hot days. I plan to use it even more when I start trail running, because the back compartment has quite a bit of storage for more clothes/gear that I'm not currently using.

My active skin 8 was a perfect vest for my first ultra marathon.it carried all of my items no problem. The water flask were cool too. I’m really happy with my purchase.

I bought this vest in green on Sept 2 and have trained and run one 13 km race with it. I am 5'9" and bought the small. My advice is the snugger the better. I really like it and found it doesn't bounce when I'm running and stays in place. You can add a camelback if you are running long distances, but the two flasks it comes with are more than enough for my runs/training. I would recommend washing the flasks and nozzle thoroughly, as there is a lingering plastic taste when filling them just with water. I would highly recommend this vest.

Super comfy, no chafing, lots of pockets. It’s been with me on all my long runs – would 100% trust it with all my snacks.

Lightweight, comfortable, and secure fit. Holds plenty with flasks or a bladder, and the green looks great — perfect for long training runs.
