Checked Fit & Flare Prom Dress

This dress would have been perfect, but for the fact that the fit under the arms was very poor. I have to buy size 14 tops from M&S in order to accommodate my chest size, however I'm a size 12 everywhere else. I'm not sure if this was the cause, but the bodice part of the dress was too baggy at the base of the arm holes. I loved the style and fabric but the fit was disappointing for those of us with more ample chests!

I was disappointed before I got the plastic wrapping off. Online the fabric looks bright but in reality I wound it really dull and just a little to close to a dish cloth fabric. Having tried it on nothing got better for me the arm holes were very gaping and once again the length far too short for me to wear. I was disappointed with the quality of fabric so returned.

This dress I really liked and I am so disappointed that it didn't fit. The waist and length were fine, but the bust was too big. I ordered a size 12 which I am, but when I measured it across the bust size was 38 and I've always thought a size 12 dress was 34 bust.

Not really a dress person but have decided to try a few this year. This is the third i have purchased and it is a lovely material, true size fit and good price. will enjoy wearing WHEN we get some sun.

Nice dress but why only one length? at 5ft 8, to short, and very baggy under arms. Nice quality though. Returned to store.

The style was just what I was looking for, colours and fabric fine. Unfortunatrely the bodice was much too big, I am a size 12 but this was for a person larger, the arm holes were too big and it gapped. Sadly it was returned.

For those special occasions in the summer I intend to wear this a lot. Easy to accessorise.

This dress fits and looks lovely.slightly heavy material but feels great on perfect length.thought the dress looked a bit retro but loved it anyway.

I really liked the look of this dress online. The material is nice and cool for the summer and the colours are lovely. It's very fresh looking. The big issue for me was the size of the armholes. They are huge and showed a good part of my bra. Marks have a habit of making dresses with large armholes. Next time I have one of these dresses with large armholes I am going to photograph myself in the dress and post it on Mark's Facebook page. Maybe then someone will take some notice as this is a regular problem with many reviewers. Such a shame because it is a lovely dress if you are a shot putter or a discus thrower.

I usually fit into M&S size 12 dresses so I bought this size and the dress fits, but let's say it leaves no room for weight gain! Its length is right too, sitting just below the knee, which is what I want at my age to cover my less-than-perfect legs. (If only M & S would make dresses in two lengths, like they do trousers, their sales would soar!) It's a pretty dress, made of lightweight fabric but lined in grey cotton so it's not see-through. It's well made with tiny pink beads sewn into the crochet trim, which I hadn't noticed on the photo. I'm very pleased indeed with my purchase.

I was very let down by this dress, ordered via the web site I thought it looked lovely on line. It arrived having been sat in a delivery van all over the easter holidays it was so creased it had to be ironed before trying on. The bodice is lovely with the detailing but its too long in the body and it poked out at the underarms . Needed taking in with darts. The skirt was all wonky at the hem a it like a hankerchief hem it was quite noticeable. The main thing for me was that the cotton underskirt stuck to you and it was all too thick for the summer. Very overpriced dress for what it was, can do better elsewhere.

I love this dress, I did go up a size and I am glad I did, I am usually 16 so I sent for an 18, I have to take it in a little bit under the arms but I would not have got near a 16, It is very fresh looking and a good length I am 5ft4 and it is just below the knee, I think I will get another belt but it is a great dress.
