Understated elegance

I have been looking for a solid wood, white painted bed for a while, Scandinavian/Shaker style. I was about to order a flatpack one in similar style from guess where, when I saw this one. For £150 less, lucky to get in the sale, thanks to M&S I have a solid wood bed (no MDF veneers, unlike the others I've seen) with an attractive curved headboard. Very solid, well made and I can vouch, comfortable. Agree with the description, soft white, giving a satinwood finish (not glossy). I got a text message with a 2 hour delivery slot 2 days before delivery day, very handy. On the day the delivery men rang when they were an hour away. The delivery men were brilliant, assembled the bed in no time at all, putting down runner to protect floor when they came in, and asking me to check I was satisfied with the bed before they left, with all the packaging. Great job. The only information missing when I was looking initially on the website was the clearance under the bed. It is approx 32 cm. Plenty of room for underbed storage. If I had bought from the other place, I would now be looking at paying someone to assemble the bed for me (life's too short!) and having to get rid of the packaging. Thank you M&S for making everything go smoothly, so rare these days to have such great quality and service at very reasonable price.

The bed was delivered in the 2 hour delivery slot. It was raining but the men brought in floor protector and wore overshoes. It was carried upstairs and assembled quickly. It looks very good and feels solid. We already had a mattress but bed slats are very good and support the mattress well so we are very comfortable.
