Children always have an opinion on what they – and you – wear, so we asked three little ones to dress their mums and themselves in the new season’s top trends
“My mum usually wears flowy clothes. She won’t wear hats,” says Mitzi, who styled Lindsey in a military green coat, cream roll neck, jeans and fedora hat. “I really like the braiding on the jumper she’s wearing today.” Mitzi dressed herself in a Sixties-style, hound’s-tooth dress with silver Mary Janes. “I usually wear baggy trousers and a crop top but I like the pattern and black sleeves on this dress.”

“My mum would WEAR
this for work or a walk”
“My mum likes to wear black or white and jeans,” says Finn, who put Anna in a brocade dress, white shirt and multi-strap flats. “I like what she’s wearing today because of the shiny pattern. She’d wear this for an anniversary or wedding.” Finn picked a plaid shirt with jeans and leather boots. “The shirt is really smart and the jeans are really comfortable. I’d wear this to a party.”

“What my MUM’S wearing
today is very pretty”
“I love the shoulders on my mum’s top,” says Sofia, who dressed Emma in wide-leg trousers and a cut-away shoulder knit. “She likes black and blue but I’d like her to wear shorts and patterns a bit more.” Sofia’s outfit has a Parisian feel with a tutu, denim jacket and black flats. “I usually wear leggings and shorts but also sparkles,” she explains. “I like my outfit today because it’s so comfortable.”
