Sail away to Sri Lanka

When we’re in the mood for spice, Indian curries have long dominated the table. For something different, try tapping into the trend for Sri Lankan cuisine. With its characteristic flavours of coconut, chilli and aromatic spices, it’s sure to excite your taste buds.

Why not try... our Taste Sri Lanka king prawn curry
With plump king prawns, slow-roasted potatoes and fresh red peppers in a spiced coconut sauce, our creamy, spicy curry is a fiery flavour sensation. Don;t forget to squeeze over lots of fresh lime juice before serving for added zing.

Make it extra special
In Sri Lanka, curries are traditionally accompanied with hoppers (crisp rice flour pancakes) and spicy sambols (hot sauces or pastes). Make your own pol sambola (coconut sambol) by sprinkling desiccated coconut with warm water and mixing it with finely chopped red chilli, onion and fresh lime juice, to taste. Season and spread onto poppadoms – a quick alternative to hoppers.

Drink with...
A tart and zesty pale ale, such as Sorachi Saison, which has notes of lemon and tangerine.
