A great, sturdy set that has a ton of features and is great with the other space-themed kits. My kids and I love playing with it and highly recommend to others!

Great experience

As a (hot, pretty and adorable) chemist I enjoyed building this set. I was able to finish it in a day. The only issues is that for some parts it was hard to join them together and you would need to apply a lot of pressure. Very movable parts, displays nicely.

This set is one of the best I’ve ever seen!

I recently built the LEGO Spaceship, and it was an absolute blast! The set offered a fun and engaging build, with detailed instructions that made the process smooth from start to finish. The spaceship itself looks fantastic once completed, with sleek lines and intricate design elements that really make it stand out. The pieces fit together well, and the overall build is sturdy. It's a great addition to any LEGO collection, especially for space-themed enthusiasts. The only downside is that the smaller parts can be a bit tricky to handle, but it's a minor issue. Overall, it's a highly satisfying set that's well worth the time and effort.

Great slow and steady build

A really great build to work on at a slow and steady pace, it took about 6 hours for my kid to complete. There were a couple of instructions that weren’t quite clear, but the builder app with the 3D instructions helped quite a bit.

So playable!

As an adult this is hands down the most playable set I’ve seen in a while. I love that it has a handle and three movable functions within reach of the handle. And it looks awesome! The only downside is the stickers, there are so many and I’ve never been a fan of stickers on legos. But overall I love having and playing with this set. I’d love to see more flyers like this that are clearly meant to be held and flown, especially in the space theme.

Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a challenge. The packaging is great. It's very durable. The performance is perfect. You have to be super careful, though not to lose any pieces, it's definitely not for Littles just for big kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was the most excited to receive this product, it’s very beautiful. But it does take a lot of work to build it. You have to have a lot of patience and determination to achieve it. I do not recommend that they leave it within the reach of small children under 4 years old. It contains only small parts. The price is worth it, it’s very high. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

We’ve built many of Lego’s recent Space vehicles (42158, 42180, 42182) and 42181 VTOL Heavy Cargo Spaceship is my favorite. Fun build, great play features that work flawlessly and a very reasonable price. Nice work Lego!

Incredibly impressed with this set. It’s the first space themed technic set I have ever purchased and it did not disappoint in the least. The design is outstanding, both aesthetically and technically; providing a great build experience and an authentic science fiction model. Love it; great work Lego team!

So much fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My little one loves all things space related and has a blast building this with his dad. They took 2 weekends to finish the full project. I think this is great gift for a 10 year old or a grown up who loves space. The quality is off course fantastic as all Lego toys are. As a Lego loving family we were thrilled to build the heavy cargo space ship.

Hours of fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ll start this off by saying to fully enjoy this set, you gotta love the process of building! It took me around 8 hours total to fully complete it, but it’s super awesome and so worth it! I actually really enjoyed working on this set and putting it together, the instructions were very easy to follow. My favorite part is how a lot of the pieces move, making it an interactive experience for your guests who just HAVE to touch it as well as an awesome addition to your lego display! I can’t recommend enough, especially as a gift for those in your life who love legos and space.

Interactive and intricate space build

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, what a cool way to get a child (or yourself) immersed in space and science! I was very impressed with the level of detail and intricacies that went into making such a realistic looking design. Even the machines and engines showcase the inner mechanics and hydraulics which really adds to the sophistication of this build. It has mechanics that can extend and maneuver, i.e. the cockpit self-levels and moving gear and rotors. It has a separate cargo load that can hook in to pick up and move! My favorite part is the mini space rover. A mini rover?! Like how cool and realistic is that?! The whole thing is impressively large and is a several hour build. It is definitely worth its price tag for its design complexity and intricate build. I truly think it's on the cheaper end for Lego. It is entertaining, promotes science and space exploration, and did I say, cool?

Great lego set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The VTOL Heavy Cargo Spaceship LT81 is a very good Lego set that is perfect for all ages. But with small children (under 6) need to support from parents for safety. The design is simple and engaging to build, yet allows the builder to work on it once in a while, or all in one go. The finished model is aesthetically pleasing and has many play features, including a cargo box and rover which both come with the set. 10/10 for this set. Would recommend it.

Excellent build. I love that it is built to mini fig scale, same as the Mars Crew Exploration Rover VT80. The minor issue with the landing gear not locking in the retracted position was easily resolved.

Great set. I've always wanted more space themed sets and this really hit the spot. I was patient with the stickers because there were so many of them. It was worth it in the end. The landing gear could use some reinforcement to stay tucked in while in flight mode. Just an idea for future spaceship sets! Thanks for finally expanding on this universe.
