Great

Originally posted on influenster.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a challenge. The packaging is great. It's very durable. The performance is perfect. You have to be super careful, though not to lose any pieces, it's definitely not for Littles just for big kids

Lego lover

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was the most excited to receive this product, it’s very beautiful. But it does take a lot of work to build it. You have to have a lot of patience and determination to achieve it. I do not recommend that they leave it within the reach of small children under 4 years old. It contains only small parts. The price is worth it, it’s very high. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

We’ve built many of Lego’s recent Space vehicles (42158, 42180, 42182) and 42181 VTOL Heavy Cargo Spaceship is my favorite. Fun build, great play features that work flawlessly and a very reasonable price. Nice work Lego!

Great Set

Incredibly impressed with this set. It’s the first space themed technic set I have ever purchased and it did not disappoint in the least. The design is outstanding, both aesthetically and technically; providing a great build experience and an authentic science fiction model. Love it; great work Lego team!

So much fun!

Originally posted on influenster.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My little one loves all things space related and has a blast building this with his dad. They took 2 weekends to finish the full project. I think this is great gift for a 10 year old or a grown up who loves space. The quality is off course fantastic as all Lego toys are. As a Lego loving family we were thrilled to build the heavy cargo space ship.

Hours of fun!

Originally posted on influenster.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ll start this off by saying to fully enjoy this set, you gotta love the process of building! It took me around 8 hours total to fully complete it, but it’s super awesome and so worth it! I actually really enjoyed working on this set and putting it together, the instructions were very easy to follow. My favorite part is how a lot of the pieces move, making it an interactive experience for your guests who just HAVE to touch it as well as an awesome addition to your lego display! I can’t recommend enough, especially as a gift for those in your life who love legos and space.

Interactive and intricate space build

Originally posted on influenster.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, what a cool way to get a child (or yourself) immersed in space and science! I was very impressed with the level of detail and intricacies that went into making such a realistic looking design. Even the machines and engines showcase the inner mechanics and hydraulics which really adds to the sophistication of this build. It has mechanics that can extend and maneuver, i.e. the cockpit self-levels and moving gear and rotors. It has a separate cargo load that can hook in to pick up and move! My favorite part is the mini space rover. A mini rover?! Like how cool and realistic is that?! The whole thing is impressively large and is a several hour build. It is definitely worth its price tag for its design complexity and intricate build. I truly think it's on the cheaper end for Lego. It is entertaining, promotes science and space exploration, and did I say, cool?

Great lego set

Originally posted on influenster.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The VTOL Heavy Cargo Spaceship LT81 is a very good Lego set that is perfect for all ages. But with small children (under 6) need to support from parents for safety. The design is simple and engaging to build, yet allows the builder to work on it once in a while, or all in one go. The finished model is aesthetically pleasing and has many play features, including a cargo box and rover which both come with the set. 10/10 for this set. Would recommend it.

Excellent build. I love that it is built to mini fig scale, same as the Mars Crew Exploration Rover VT80. The minor issue with the landing gear not locking in the retracted position was easily resolved.

The Most Fun I've Had in a Long While

Originally posted on LEGO

Great set. I've always wanted more space themed sets and this really hit the spot. I was patient with the stickers because there were so many of them. It was worth it in the end. The landing gear could use some reinforcement to stay tucked in while in flight mode. Just an idea for future spaceship sets! Thanks for finally expanding on this universe.

Great set

I am a massive fan of Lego technic, this does make me slightly boast but this set is amazing for everyone. It has an easy build process that is great for beginners and experienced builders because of its fun simple design. The set as a whole only has a few problems. Of which none are major. The biggest being that the landing gear does not stay up on its own. This set is amazing and has great one handed controls. The cab itself can move to stabilize the interior which I so cool to me. This set I would one hundred percent recommend and makes for an awesome display model next to the other space sets.

A pleasant surprise

Originally posted on LEGO

Received this as a gift and i honestly didn't expect to like a technic set this much, but it is truly an amazingly fun and well designed set. Tilting engines, retracting landing gear, cargo grappling mechanism, self-levelling cockpit, mini rover and a surprising amount of detail inside the engines set this model a notch above the rest. One thing though: So. Many. Stickers. But a blast to swoosh around and interact with. Who knew technic and the space theme would combine so well?

It never gets boring!

Originally posted on influenster.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My boyfriend and I started with this Lego Technic build-kit. We have already made a few things with Lego like cars and flowers. This is the first big thing! I really love the lego building-kits because it’s easy to use and it’s really entertaining! You have a “book” which says what you need to do. Everything is packet in bags with numbers on it. The book says what package you should open. This prevents losing pieces. Sometimes there are extra pieces, which I love!

The return of old Technic

Originally posted on LEGO

Yes, I recommend this

In recent years, the Technic theme has become filled with licensed and barely functional sets. This is not one of them. It oozes the creativity and functionality that the theme has been missing for years. The design is both fun and original while the functions are enjoyable and numerous. I wish Lego would make more outlandish sci-fi designs like this for future Technic. Perhaps even a return to Technic City and the Competition gang?

Superb overall

A superb play set with the excellent grip and control features, while still being great for display with the other new Space sets. The build is fun with lots of the best ‘aha’ Technic moments. The amount of stickers drops the build experience by one star.
