Breakfast in bed ideas
Planning the perfect breakfast in bed? It’s all about choosing flavour-packed, easy-to-make ideas to make them feel special. It could be as simple as a tray of bake-at-home pastries fresh from the oven with their favourite cup of coffee, or one of their favourite homemade brunch recipes. Keep reading for some of our favourite ideas.

Lemon and blueberry crumpet doughnuts
Is it a crumpet? Is it a doughnut? Is it French toast? When it tastes this good, frankly, who cares. Stuff our five-grain sourdough crumpets with zesty lemon curd and blueberry jam, pan-fry until golden then toss in sugar. Load up onto a tray and surprise your favourite sweet tooth with this epic breakfast in bed.

Chilli cheese breakfast naan bread pizzas
For a fired-up breakfast in bed, without the fuss, load garlicky naan bread with cheddar, green chilli, mango chutney and eggs then bake until bubbling. Slice, get back under the covers, and dig in.

Piri breakfast muffins
These prep-ahead high-protein chicken and egg muffins are a levelled-up homemade version of the fast-food favourite. They can be wrapped in greaseproof paper so they’re perfectly portable – ideal for a breakfast tray.

Spiced granola
The smell of a batch of toasty, nutty, cinnamon-spiced vegan granola is a lovely thing to wake up to on a Sunday morning. Serve this for breakfast in bed with some thick Greek yogurt and fresh fruit.

Dippy eggs and asparagus soldiers
Tom Kerridge’s twist on the British classic, egg and soldiers, makes for an extra special breakfast in bed. Wrap seasonal asparagus in crispy prosciutto and serve with golden-yolk runny fried eggs for dunking.

Pistachio and blood orange pancakes
Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a tray of fluffy pancakes, drenched in maple syrup, with zesty blood oranges and a dollop of our viral Pistachio Créme. This recipe is made with our shortcut American-style pancake mix, so you know they’ll turn out perfectly every time.

Top tips for the best breakfast in bed
Feeling inspired to treat someone to a pull-out-all-the-stops brekkie? Plan your menu, opting for dishes that can be brought up on a tray. Or stock up on some elevated breakfast ingredients, like Scottish smoked salmon, sourdough and fresh fruit, for a simple but impressive spread. If it’s a special occasion, add some thoughtful finishing touches, like a flower in a single-stem vase, a handwritten card or a hot drink made in their favourite mug.

Treat Mum to Mother’s Day breakfast in bed
A special breakfast is just the thing to celebrate Mother’s Day. Little ones will love to surprise Mum with a tray laden with her favourite breakfast treats. Let them help make a card, pick flowers from the garden and pop in an empty jam jar, and decorate a homemade menu of what’s included in Mum’s breakfast. Older kids can help with mixing up pancake batter or chopping fruit. Don't forget to plan some thoughtful Mother’s Day gifts, and even more Mother's Day food, like an epic Sunday roast, for the rest of the day.
