Checked Pleated Midi Skirt

I liked the idea of a long pleated skirt but this one didn't suit me at all! Fit & length OK. Not too sure about the fabric, it felt quite chunky. Obviously more suited to daytime wear than evening. Just not flattering on - so I returned it.

This skirt fits nicely, but is rather heavy.

The zip has far to big an interface to allow the pleats to sit properly.

This is an elegant classic style. The fabric is good quality and the length is a flattering midi that swooshes as you walk! Great value for this item.

I know other reviews had mentioned this skirt was heavy but I hadn't realised just how heavy. There is masses of material and it's also very long. Most M&S midi length skirts are around mid-calf length on me, or just a bit below. This one was down to the floor! I managed to establish this much without trying it on so didn't get as far as trying out the zip. But the zips on other M&S skirts I've tried recently have all been very fiddly and often very stiff. Got stuck in one the other day, had a major fight with it which I eventually won, though was on the brink of attacking it with scissors!

What a fantastic, quality skirt for the money. Hangs as a pleated skirt should hang. Length perfect (I am 5ft 8in). Zip no problem just a little stiff at the top because of the weight of the material but ok even with my long nails.

I was very pleased with this skirt which I wore for an interview, The material is heavy, but with some stretch which makes it comfortable to wear, I agree that the zip is a bit stiff. The length is at leat 32 ins as it is just above ankle length on me & I'm 5'6" - I found this perfect, but may not suit everyone.

The colour/design of this skirt is lovely and it is a heavy weight for winter. The material feels rather like Crimplene to the touch. The skirt is definitely much longer than M & S's' website stated "midi = 30 inches" However, I could not even try it on as the zip was impossible to move - and because the zip puller appeared fragile for the weight of the fabric I was unwilling to spend too long tugging in case it broke!! Sadly, this skirt had to be returned.

I am delighted with this skirt. I was doubtful about the high polyester content but it is a good weight and has a real swing when you walk. It is exactly what I expected from the website photo and information. It fits neatly over the hips and can be worn with a top tucked in or outside. It does seem to come out longer than I thought but that is better for me. As for the zip that people are complaining about, I hardly think that's a deal breaker! It IS a bit stiff to undo at the waistband but I'm sure it will ease with wear. It looks more expensive than the price and of course it doesn't crease. Buy it everybody!

Very disappointing much longer than 30 ins zip get stuck at waist band hard to pull down then very hard to get off. Would have made a nice winter skirt not one of your best will be returning to store

This is a heavy skirt, so good for autumn and winter. The check print is very attractive. It fastens with a side zip and button, the only problem is that the zip is very difficult to fasten and unfasten, as it gets stuck for about the last couple of centimeters where the waistband is. I thought I wasn't going to be able to get it off! I am therefore not sure yet whether I will keep it. The length from the top of the waistband on the skirt I received is 32 inches.
