BRA-FIT MYTHS, BUSTED

Think you have to strip off to have your boobs measured? You don’t. Here, we sort bra-fit fact from fiction

Millions of women in Britain are wearing the wrong size bra. Are you one of them? There’s one easy way to find out: with an M&S Bra Fit appointment in store. Not sure? Here are a few bra-fit myths that might convince you to give it a go.

Myth #1: It takes ages
Wrong. It takes half an hour, so you can (bra) fit it into your lunch break. Plus, it’s free.

Myth #2: You have to strip off
Nope. You can leave your bra on; you’ll just need to take your top off so we can determine the perfect shape for you. (Guess what? When it comes to finding the right bra, size doesn’t matter. “It’s all about finding the right bra shape to match your body,” says Julia Mercer, head of M&S Bra Fit.)

Myth #3: “I had a bra fitting a few years ago; I don’t need to go again”
Not true. As Julia says, “Bodies change. You don’t stay the same size all the time. If your weight changes, your breast size changes, and that means your bra size changes too.” Julia’s advice? “Have a bra fit once a year to be sure you’re wearing the right bra.” So, what are you waiting for?
