Girls' Slim Fit Permanent Pleats School Skirt (2-18 Yrs)

We’ve bought these skirts for a few years now for school and my daughters do love them. They look smart and they enjoy the hidden side pocket My daughters are relatively slim build but not excessively so. I still had to take these in using the adjusters to the near maximum level so the over-crinkled result affects the appearance. It seems even worse now than previous years. The skirts have gone bigger! A great shame. Please M and S make them slimmer! There are regular versions out there after all.

The skirt is far too long. It is shown as down to the knee on the image but it is much longer than that and comes down to below my daughter’s mid calf.

Brilliant for children of a slim build, I’ve struggled to get school skirts anywhere as I have to go 2 sizes down to get the waist fit but then they’re like a mini skirt on the length, this skirt is perfect and daughter loves it and is very happy she can wear a skirt some days

Lovely length skirt. Always washes and irons well. Not too big on waist like other makes.

Comes up small. Could have more stretch in them. Just about fit. Not true to size.

Bought these tights for school. After few washes it has so many bobbles all over. The fabric quality has changed from the past years. It doesnot sit well on the waist now as well.

M&S are quite simply the best when it comes to school uniform. Wash well, wear well, fit well. Good ethics and sustainability. Sizes to fit all shapes (5’9 13 year old with a slim waist int his case!) Have tried elsewhere - always return to M&S.

Really good quality pleated school skirts. They can look a little big on little girls, I have to size down for my daughter.

I’ve always bought M&S uniform and love it - washes fab and wears well. This skirt is no exception. I needed a suitable smart (black) skirt for my slim, petite daughter. Most (if not all) of the M&S school skirts have waist adjusters, but we found all of the pencil and pleated style skirts age 11-12 (yes, we tried them all), needed pulling in so much - literally to the max, that the skirts ended up distorted, ruining the overall appearance. This was the only ‘slim fit’ skirt available at M&S. Fortunately, by also going back down to age 10-11, this slim fit pleated skirt is absolutely perfect (had to go three button holes in on the waist adjustment, on both sides). Unsurprisingly, the skirts are proportionately shorter, the younger the age on the label, but luckily this one is still a decent length on my daughter, who is 4ft 10.5”.
