Didn’t think I could go wrong with a Merlot, but found it thin and rather bitter, when I was expecting soft and fruity! Wouldn’t buy it again and may have to use it for mulled wine later this year, as I ordered six bottles in the sale.

Have bought this wine in the past ,usually when on offer, as it is such a bargain, Can be drunk on its own or with a meal, extremely fruity wine ,tangy and really good to drink. Like the fact it is also a Fairtrade Wine, which is important as well.

It was important to have a Fartrade wine for a business reception and this Dolphin Bay Merlot significantly exceeded expectations. It had clear fruit flavors without being too strong. It was therefore ideal for relaxing and drinking with savory starters.

We used this as the red wine for our wedding and it went down very well. Its really reasonable for the quality. We particularly wanted to support the producers through buying Fairtrade so it was brilliant that we could get a good wine at a good price and still be Fairtrade. Highly recommended.
