Cave De Mailly Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs - Single Bottle

Sorry, this item is no longer available

A rich and golden blanc de noirs champagne (meaning it’s made exclusively from black-skinned grape varieties) with a sumptuous bouquet of peach, summer berries and sweet spices. In the mouth it is full and creamy, with a fine mousse of bubbles and a long, elegant finish.

This expressive blanc de noirs champagne is made solely from pinot noir grapes sourced from exclusive plots Mailly, a village in champagne around 20km from Epernay in the heart of the Cote de Blancs area. Mailly is one of only 17 villages (out of 319) entitled to Grand Cru status, the grapes came from named plots Les Crayats, Les Coutures and Les Chalois. Winemaker Sebastien Moncuit, who previously worked for Laurent Perrier and Oenolia, ensured the grapes were harvested and pressed as whole bunches. After initial cool fermentation, 10% of the wine was aged for six months in large oak casks to add an extra depth and complexity to the finished wine. Second fermentation was carried out in bottle for 36 months in traditional chalk cellars.
