Don’t always coordinate
“While perfectly matching shoes and bags look great, it’s not a hard and fast rule you need to stick to. Sometimes it’s good – or even better – to mix it up a bit. A bright bag works brilliantly with any neutral shoe or boot (and yes, animal print can be classed as neutral) or try contrasting colours. Just opt for the same tone, so all jewels tones work together (like these ochre shoes and rich red bag), or all pastels, all neon and so forth.”

Do make a statement

Don’t always choose black
“I’m as a big a fan of classic black boots and bags as the next person, but it’s good to branch out every so often. I’ve recently discovered the joy of camel-coloured boots and bags, and I’m loving the vibe they give. Camel goes with almost any colour (yes, even black and grey) and the creamy caramel tone adds a gorgeous level of sophistication to an outfit. Try it.”

Do pick out a hero colour
“I love picking out a colour from a print and following that through in my acccessories – just like how these hiking boot laces match the red check in the coat. Or how these metallic shoes and bag complement the sheen of the velvet suit. It’s a way of matching but keeping it cool and quirky.”
