Now October’s arrived and the temperatures are dipping, the heady days of summer seem like a distant memory, but look on the bright side: it’s time to start thinking about sumptuous winter coats. In her Per Una checked number, our M&S Instagram Insider Michelle (@marksandspencer_michelle) is certainly embracing colder weather, with a look she says is “well and truly ready for autumn”. So why does Michelle love it so much? “It’s double-breasted and lined but best of all, oversized, a look I really do like,” she explains. “Lurking under the coat is my current nod to ‘classic vintage’: the cinched waist, fit-and-flare dogtooth dress.” Team with tortoiseshell ankle boots and a snakeskin bag for the ultimate mix-and-match statement.
