At M&S, we’re all looking forward to bringing on the brighter days that lie ahead and we’re delighted to have now reopened all our stores across the UK

Throughout the pandemic we’ve worked really hard to help our customers shop with confidence, and Sparks Book & Shop has been a key part of this. Our customers have loved the service – with more than 900,000 slots booked since launching in September, and so many customers telling us how it’s made shopping much easier and more efficient

However, our stores are no longer seeing the regular, long queues experienced during the height of lockdown, and as a result, demand for Sparks Book & Shop has reduced.

With this in mind, from Saturday 8 May we will be switching off our Sparks Book & Shop service.

We’re sorry for any disappointment this may cause and as ever, we thank our customers for their continued support and co-operation and leave the door open for Sparks Book & Shop to return in the future.

  • Our stores are no longer seeing the regular, long queues experienced during the height of lockdown, and as a result, demand for Sparks Book & Shop has reduced. With this in mind, from Saturday 8 May we will be switching off our Sparks Book & Shop service.

  • We’re sorry for any disappointment caused and encourage any customers looking for a quiet time to shop to visit our stores either before 10am or between 3.30-5pm weekdays, which are generally our quietest times

  • Yes. As has been the case throughout the pandemic, we have a range of social distancing measures in place in our stores in order to keep everyone safe and well. These will remain in place until 21 June at the earliest.

  • In line with current government guidance, our measures will remain in place until 21 June at the earliest. We will be paying close attention to government guidance.

  • Yes. Our sanitisation stations will remain in place for our customers to use until 21 June at the earliest.

  • As we’ve done throughout the pandemic, we are paying close attention to government guidance and acting accordingly. Our store teams have shown over the past 12 months how quickly we’re able to respond to changes in regulations and are prepared for any scenario.

  • We know how popular Sparks Book & Shop has been with our customers, so we are leaving the door for it to return in the future if it’s needed – at Christmas, for example.
