Wool Check Overshirt

M&S will give you guidelines for surveys, not fee journalism. M&S take it or leave it I bought this garment because it looks dark navy/brown check. Nope, more midnight black. I am thinking about it, it would look even better on a man. But, it is mainly wool, it moulds to the body and will settle down even better when it is carefully washed. No reason for it not to be gently washable [wool programme & wool shampoo]. On the other hand I wash my cashmere hardly at all. Wool keeps itself clean. Just hang it out to air between wearings always on the hanger, no need for ironing. It is a light coat after all. Beautifully made and finished. Long on me, and sleeves too, but I turn the cuff up, as well as the collar. If that does not suit you, give it to a bloke. What more can I say?

To own this shirt and maintain its quality requires care, and a willing to keep to dry cleaning instructions. Ordered oversize as expected shrinkage. Not recommended washing and therefore will not suit budget of wearer.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. It does say dry clean, but I think it can be hand washed as it is a normal 100% wool -- what's different about it than a wool sweater? -- I think they are just protecting themselves from people doing stupid things. I bet wool cycle in the machine is just fine . . . but of course, that is at your own risk. It looks more elegant/ expensive than anything else that was in the M&S men's department -- like it came from John Lewis!

I bought this as a present but unfortunately didn’t read the specifics. I have returned it as I discovered it has to be dry cleaned so therefore not suitable for the recipient.
