Hanton Velvet Ottoman Bed

Lovely bed but broke after a week. The bed was fixed but at that price I feel that shouldn’t have happened

We have had the bed for around 5 months and only in use since October half term. It has only been used twice as it is in the spare room. First time for two nights. Second time for 5 nights. On second visit, family member sat at pillow end, ready to get into bed, and it collapsed. Side frame broke away from headboard. Pretty shocked! Now awaiting M&S investigation type outcome as it has a ten year warranty like all M&S furniture. It is made of particle board. Up and until this point the bed was a joy to look at and we were very pleased with it. The ottoman soft fabric storage is useful for extra cushions and pillows. At time of purchase there was only a positive review.

I bought this bed in May 2022 and had to move the bed as I got new carpets fitted. Two of the legs broke off. To my dismay they had been fitted to chip board type wood. On looking further there is no way this frame is worth the money. The storage unit is a flimsy cover which is attached by velcro. Such a shame as the design is lovely

If your looking for a ottoman bed this is NOT what you want. Yes the bed lifts up but there’s no storage box apart from a canvas hanging black thing which stores nothing weight wise because it’s so flimsy. Held on with velcro! Not very M&S . Was only told this on deliver by the nice men who fitted it. They were great but the bed is not what I though it was. I will now have to go buy storage boxes to go under it. Could have done that with my old bed I replaced this with and saved my £1000 . If I had known I would have bought a “proper” ottoman bed. Not happy. On the plus side a beautiful blue.
