What are the best British apples this season?

Autumn is the season for British apples, which means now’s the time to try a whole variety of them, whether you love an aromatic Cox, a juicy Royal Gala or a delicate Egremont Russet. But you don’t need to stop there – there are so many varieties to choose from, with flavours, textures and colours that range from sharp to sweet, richly aromatic to nutty, crisp to juicy, deep red to earthy green.

Apples grow well in the UK’s climate, with hundreds of varieties grown in orchards and out in the wild. Look out for our spookily red-blushed Kissabel apples and exclusive-to-M&S Scarlet Paradise, with a skin so red it could belong to Snow White, just in time for Halloween.
