Product code: 00615280

A smooth and easy-drinking Bordeaux red with hallmark aromas of cassis, leather and cedarwood. Flavours of creamy ripe plum and blackcurrant leaf are underpinned by fine tannins and a delicious savoury note in this stylish, lightly oaked red.

Château de Sours dates back to the 14th century, and vines were first planted here by the Comtes du Richemont in the late 1700s. Made for us by one of Bordeaux's talented new-wave of winemakers Valerie Valmy, Château Richemont red is a terrific example of how modern techniques and traditional know-how can be used to create wines with both purity of flavour and a real sense of place. Made predominantly from Merlot with a splash of leafy Cabernet Franc, this wine was aged for a short period of time in French oak barrels to lend texture and depth of flavour.

Not bad

Yes, I recommend this

This was a bit underwhelming for a wine of this age. But bought it with a third off so cannot complain.

OK - a little dry

No, I don't recommend this

This is an easy drinking wine, a little dry with the tannins and not quite enough fruit for my taste though

A very decent wine at a very decent price

Yes, I recommend this

To my relatively untutored taste, this represents a distinctly superior wine of its type- a stronger yet subtler taste and consistency than one normally comes up against at this sort of price level- so many French reds currently sold in the UK are devoid of character or subtlety.

Wow !

No, I don't recommend this

Purchased this at £35.99 on special - it was the 2010, can only say this was better than the ones I purchased in France for £44.00 + !! Lovely Jubbley. Very smooth with hardly any tannin on the finish ( Can only recommend 2010 as not tried the 2009 ). Unfortunately the Wife liked this too much as well !!!!!

Excellent gift idea

Yes, I recommend this

Haven't tasted it myself, as this was a gift, but I am told by the authority of the recipient that it 'goes down very well'. I am more than happy with that.
