A deep ruby-red Malbec with plum, blackberry and spice aromas over a lively, medium-bodied palate offering silky tannins, lingering cherry notes and a hint of sun-baked earth.
The Maule Valley lies at the southern end of Chile’s Central Valley and is one of the country’s coolest wine producing areas. The Maule river flows through the valley from east to west, providing the region’s different alluvial soil types, which included granite, red clay, loam and gravel. On the slopes where the vineyards grow, the soils are free-draining and more fertile than on the valley floor. This wine was made by Renato Guerro at the family-owned CWC winery, who have 665 hectares of vines in the heart of the valley.

This is a pleasant medium bodied wine. Not as full bodied as the Argentinian Malbec but suitable for casual drinks or with a BBQ. Taking the price into account it offers good value for your money.
