I usually take 34" waist but these were a little big & needed to go down to 32. They are good quality, better than expected & seem well made. Lightweight material is great for hot weather. The material is a little noisy (rustly) but I hope that will fade with use & washing.

Black chinos
Great chinos. Bought slim fit for my husband but too tight at the bottom and getting on and off was difficult. These are much better and very smart on. Only issue is the seam was off centre but I’m hoping a quick iron will fix that

Lightweight and a cheap price but problems. Material is OK but shows creases readily. Zip is of poor quality and snags constantly. The most annoying is the elastic waistband which is roughly sewn and digs into your side - especially if you wear shirts over the trousers.

Size matters
Cost me £50 to have an inch taken off. Looking for an outlet that can do 30” legs. If this is not M&S at a future date I will look elsewhere.

The weight of these is ideal for hot weather wear. However, I found them a strange fit on the waist and I disliked the unexpected elastic inserts in the waistband. If you're wearing them without a t shirt tucked in, the exposed elastic strip is rough and by the end of the day rubs your skin sore. I wish I hadn't taken the labels off before trying them on. I might have a go at cutting out the elastic sections and downgrade them to gardening wear. Disappointing.
