Wild Rock Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Vintage: 2012
Rich, luxurious Sauvignon brimming with fresh kiwi aromas. Fabulously flavourful on the palate, with gorgeous orange, ripe pear and apricot nuances surrounded by sweet notes of lime. There’s classic Sauvignon poise – with a tang of sharpness and a twist of gooseberry on the finish – but this wine can boast both elegance and complexity.
About this bottle: A top example of New Zealand Sauvignon from this grape's finest Antipodean home - Marlborough Sauvignons have long been prized for their wonderfully vivid flavours and zingy fragrance (they were responsible for bringing this country's wines to the world's attention in the late 1970s). This example owes its unusually rich flavours to a fine warm summer on the South Island.

Montes Malbec Chile
Vintage: 2011
Rich, savoury red with enticing violet and raspberry aromas and a bright red-pepper, plum and raspberry palate. Expect plenty of fig and chocolate warmth, smooth tannins and layers of coffee and old-oak butterscotch barrel tones leading to the finish. Deliciously decadent red.
About this bottle: A widely acclaimed red from Chile's red wine heartland - the Colchagua Valley. 2011 was a long growing season in Colchagua, so winemaker Aurelio Montes was able to select deeply concentrated grapes with the super-refined flavours that come with a long hang-time. He has matured this red wine in French oak barrels for eight months to accentuate its richness and depth.

Wakefield Riesling
Vintage: 2012
Dry Riesling with mineral aromas, and classic notes of honey, bitter orange and grapefruit. Richer stone fruit characters develop on the palate and a soft, green-apple acidity keeps this wine dancing on the tongue from start to finish.
About this bottle: Clare Valley Riesling is one of Australia's best kept white wine secrets - no other New World region can capture the fragrance and delicacy of this grape, while adding in plenty of the warm sunny fruitiness natural to a hot climate country. Winemaker Adam Eggins harvests this example from gnarly old Riesling vines, some of which are as mature as 40 years old, and give the wine an even deeper intensity.

Santa Gloria Gran Reserva Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2011
Cherry, plum and liquorice aromas: this light, elegant red is a real red-wine wake-up call with a kick of cranberry acidity and a lift of lively raspberry fruit. Its elegant tannins keep this wine dancing on the palate and lingering in the memory.
About this bottle: With the ever-present influence of the sea, Chile's Casablanca region, cooled by chilly coastal breezes, is the ideal place for growing delicate Pinot Noir grapes. Eduardo Gajardo and David Gonzalez have both travelled the world to find-out all they can about nurturing this tricky grape, and at home here in Chile they create the freshest, most expressive wine by handling it with great care and giving a gentle oak ageing in French oak barrels.

Khipu Carmenère
Vintage: 2012
A deep and full-bodied red with intense forest fruit and dark cherry aromas over a richly fruity chocolate-and-spice palate.
About this bottle: Produced in Chile’s Central Valley at the foot of the Andes mountains, where centuries ago the Inca’s developed their unique ‘talking knot’ communication system the Khipu. Composed of coloured threads spun from llama and alpaca hair, the complex Khipu system acted like today’s portable computers, with messengers collecting data and keeping records, such as tax obligations and calendar information. This distinctive red honours the ancient Inca’s ingenuity with its mix of modern techniques and ancient terroir.
