About this bottle: Rioja, Spain's most famous red wine region, is situated in the north, along River Ebro valley and protected by the Sierra Cantabria mountain range. Winemaker Cesar Fernández sources the finest Tempranillo grapes from the 3 subregions, Alta, Baja and Alavesa to make this ageworthy Reserva. Using finely seasoned American oak barrels he ages the wines for 24 months and then a further year in bottle to produce this complex yet mellow red. Ready to drink now, this wine will keep for 3 years from the the date of purchase if stored in a cool, dry place.

This classic example is ripe with dark berry and plum aromas and subtle spice, all framed by cedar and vanilla notes from ageing in oak. A firm structure and velvety texture allows the wine to have a and charming, lingering finish. The climate of the Rapel Valley terroir from where the grapes for this wine come allows it to be very enjoyable at a young age and it can be aged for some years for additional complexity.
