Peakfreak II Mid Outdry Walking Boots

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] excellent! i used them in a deep immersion into the mexican desert and they where awesome, no spikes passed though the sole, i also made a 15 miles hike and their development where great, not even a blister in the bottom of my foot (all the other boots i used before gave me at least 3 blisters).

These shoes have a metal grommet for the upper laces, the back of which is sharp and perfectly positioned to dig into my ankle bones. I wore them for 5 minutes and every step caused the grommet to hit the tip of my ankle bone, which was extremely painful. I had to remove them immediately and return them. So disappointing.

I really like these shoes. They are more comfortable than I expected and I am old so comfort is a must in walking boots. I would definitely recommend these shoes

This is my first pair of Columbia hiking shoes. First use was out fishing in the mountains in up to 10-12 inches of snow. Shoes were comfortable right out of the box. Feet stayed warm and dry while outdoors for about 6 hours. Can't speak for the grip just yet but first impression is that they're good but not great. Overall, a very nice pair of hiking shoes.

Sort of a popping, rubbery, crumpling sound. Not in the sole, somewhere on the upper. Surprisingly loud and kind of embarrassing. Too expensive a shoe for that, Columbia. Otherwise a comfortable, dry shoe.
