Maxim Flare Pasta Bowl

Ordered 4, 1 was properly packaged, 3 of them smashed to pieces.

I originally purchased four of these to compliment the Maxim Flare dinner set I had previously purchased. The dishes are great - they look good, are the perfect size and fit in the dishwasher well (don’t take up excessive amounts of space each due to being quite shallow edged). One star knocked off as I had ordered a further four dishes online and two of those I received each had one small, but rather conspicuous black dot on the surface. Had I been able to purchase in store; I would have noticed this and selected dishes without the imperfections. Not the end of the world of course as they are otherwise very nice dishes.

Came to M&S expecting quality, after finally ditching the mismatched plates I've had handed down since university. I bought 6 of these pasta bowls and within 1 week wear already started to show with one of them chipping. I don't have any children to knock them over or mistreat them, and my old uni plates have survived something like 12 years. Maybe they're just not thick enough. So they look nice, but I fear they won't last. 2 different items have chipped already. This flare dish and a small flat plate and it's only been a month.

I bought four of these dishes, described as pasta plates, because I wanted a dish that would contain a generous portion for all types of "mediterranean-style" cuisine, which is what we mostly eat these days. I haven't been disappointed as they suit: lasagne, moussaka, couscous, grilled vegetables and even traditional hearty soups and stews. I use them almost daily and I am now compiling the rest of the Maxim Flare range. Hope there's a January sale deal so I can indulge myself even further!

I have bowls and plates in the original Maxim range which I love.When I saw the sloping sides on this dish I thought it might be useful in my small kitchen and it is.I've put my apples and oranges in it,perfect:)
