Leather Block Heel Ankle Boots

Love the look of these boots. They are just the right amount of clunky without being Frankenstinian, and the textured, shimmery surface is a clever counterpoint to the blockish design. They have lost a star, however, because although initially comfortable, there is no mechanism to stop the foot from sliding forward into the toe box and cramming the tips of the toes into the front of the boot. This then has an aggravating knock-on effect of gradually dragging the socks to bunch up under the arch of the foot. If only the lower strap was not simply decorative but usable, the boot would be good looking and comfortable. Not so good for trogging about but rather a handsome, if impractical, fashion accessory.
