Not the same as previous pillows, I purchased these pillows as we were pleased with ones from a few years ago, they are still soft but the new ones seem to be too full of down and are too firm, due to hygiene reasons I cannot return them

Beware. These pillows are not quite as M&S describe them. If you use the filter and select duck down filling these are the only option offered. Look properly at the description. Much to my regret I didn’t. The filling is not homogeneous it has an inner pillow filled with feather and down and a 90% down surrounding. There is no description of the thickness of each layer. The inner pillow acts like a board and you only get the benefit of the down on one side. The pillow is quite full and heavy the result is firm, bulky and unyielding. For back sleepers your head will be raised off the bed; side sleepers are better off. For both the cushioning is poor and you will be very aware of the contact points. It hurts my head and neck and I wish I could get a refund.

Very “full” pillow and compared to the rest of the market it’s more firm than medium. It’s a shame M&S don’t do a Soft pillow range - it would be perfect for me.

This duck down pillow is very firm, much firmer than I would expect from a down pillow. As you cannot return pillows I have wasted £45.

A bit on the firm side

The two I ordered arrived in good time and they look great. I bought 2 but only opened up the one to try it out because once the seal has been broken, M&S quite rightly say you can't return them. Both my husband and I have tried the one opened pillow and luckily my husband is happy with it as it's breathable and natural and he doesn't end up with a damp pillow in the morning as he suffers from night sweats (sorry if that's too much information!) I have decided to return the 2nd pillow (unopened) as I found the one we tried, a bit too firm and no bounce-back if you fidget and toss around in the night. If you just want a pillow to sit up in bed and give you firm support while you read, then I think you'll enjoy this pillow.

I bought this to match the same type of pillow I’d had previously from M&S and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s medium soft and I only sleep with one pillow and this fine for me….two would be too high. It’s more squidgy and plump in a loose pillowcase and very comfy. Recommended.
