Suede Hobo Bag

Bought this as soon as I saw it as it's exactly the type of bag I love. Have used it virtually daily for the last two weeks and despite its delicate appearance, it has 'worn' well with no real problems. I decided to write this review, however, merely to ask M&S handbag designers to ensure that in future all their bags (especially large ones like this) include a mobile phone pocket. Can't believe that in this day and age they did not think of this. I'm no young mobile addict but a 74 year old grandmother, and I feel the omission spoils one of the nicest bags M&S have made for a long time.

I had a similar bag before and liked when the metallic suede became a little "weathered" -- it adds to the look. The leather on this bag is soft and I love the shape and reinforced straps, but needed a support at the base of the bag. If I put something slightly heavy and hard into the bag -- like a cell phone or wallet, the items will fall to the bottom with hard corners stretch the leather into bulging in weird bumps at the bottom of the bag. Its fine for carrying soft, light things, maybe a cardigan or pashmina, but if you habitually carry a cell phone, wallet and Kindle as well as a small make up bag like I do, then it will not work. The leather is soft and too thin without some sort of reinforcement at the bottom!

This is a great bag and hold loads. Great value and especially with 20% off with my Birthday treat from M&S! I would say the colour is a champagne gold but will go with everything and is my Summer 2019 handbag. I don’t mind that it is not lined and doesn’t have ‘feet’ that’s it’s style and nothing to do with quality etc.

The feel of the leather is gorgeous, and I loved the colour. However it doesn't have any lining and just seemed too flimsy as also only has a single fastening in the middle. I reluctantly returned it.

I was pleasantly surprised and pleased when this bag arrived , it’s well made, the size is right, the colour goes with everything, I’m looking forward to using it. With the 20% off it’s worth the price, I’m not sure at full price, I did purchase a very similar bag in another colour from another high street company and it was rather appalling in comparison hence so delighted with this. I would recommend it.

Wanted to love this bag as I have been looking for something similar for some time. Regret it may be a fit if you are very tall indeed, but what about the rest of us? Sadly had to return

The style and feel of the bag is gorgeous. I saw it in store, thought about it and decided to order to take on a city break to Granada. Loved the bag, and how it looked. However, within a couple of days I noticed the silver colour was rubbing off. I’ve thought about it, but decided to send back as I wonder how it might look after a month, and longer, of use. Disappointed as I loved the style, feel and colour.

This bag is a super colour and although it has some inside pockets it is not lined. The fabric is very soft making the bag rather floppy. It does not stand up on its own. I will use it but rather more rarely than I thought.

You can pack this bag in your luggage and not worry about crushing it. Fits well on the shoulder and looks brilliant on the beach or restaurant. Would highly recommend

I was intrigued to see what metallic suede looked like and it is very stylish! Great size shopper/ handbag that is very comfortable on the shoulder and lovely to look at. Just what I was looking for.
