M&S X HIRESTREET:
THE NEW CAPSULE COLLECTION

Fed up with buying clothes that you’ll only wear a handful of times? Renting M&S clothes at Hirestreet is a more affordable, more responsible way to refresh your look

Meet M&S X Hirestreet

Hands up who has a big event looming such as a landmark birthday party, or a new job that needs a killer wardrobe, but you can’t quite justify buying something new? Whether for concerns about sending unworn clothes to landfill or for budgeting reasons, many people now think twice about filling their wardrobe with items that might only be worn once or twice. This is where the clever concept of hiring clothes steps in: you can refresh your wardrobe and give your bank balance a break, all at the same time. Result. And, did you know that you can now hire many of M&S’s key new-season buys through the clothes rental platform Hirestreet?

Once only used for hiring pricey designer frocks for wedding season, with the launch of M&S’s latest 78-piece-strong collection on Hirestreet, clothes rental is shifting firmly into the mainstream.

The new capsule collection

In a first for Hirestreet, the latest M&S drop has everyday staples including jeans and footwear, as well as tradition rental items such as coats and partywear. Also new for autumn is the launch of M&S capsule collections, consisting of either five, six, or seven clothing and footwear items. Each carefully curated capsule collection is available to rent from just £39 and, even better, each piece works out at less than £6 to hire, which makes it a purse-friendly way to update your look for the new season. Styled into themes such as monochrome and knitwear, with coordinating pieces that work hard for both work and play, these mini collections will keep you looking on trend at a fraction of the cost of buying outright.

Find your perfect item

So, how does Hirestreet work? There are about 100 M&S items to choose from, which can be delivered directly to your door. Firstly, filter by size and the date you need the item delivered – if you’re renting something for a particular occasion, it’s recommended that you also select a back-up option. Then select how long you want to hire an item for, usually between four and 30 days, with better value prices the longer you have it. Once the rental period is up, repackage and return the item to Hirestreet to be dry cleaned ready for its next outing.

All M&S products are made with care and are designed to last, so are ideal for the rental market. Hiring clothes not only helps save money but also contributes to the circular economy – since launching in 2021, 24% of M&S clothes on the Hirestreet platform have been rented more than 10 times and 73% of M&S customers on Hirestreet have chosen to rent clothes to be sustainable.
