Trapunto Bedspread

I have been looking for a white bedspread with a scalloped edge for some time now, so I was delighted when I saw this. I had some concerns about fit as I do have a king size bed, but I would say it is just about big enough to hang down at the sides - it wasn’t pearched on top as I feared. Obviously, how far down it goes depends on how high your bed is. It could do with being slightly larger, but it is so nice I’m prepared to compromise.

Purchased yesterday from the branch in Banbury Gateway. The packaging states that this bedspread is suitable for a super king bed, so I figured that my smaller king size bed would get plenty of coverage and that it would be big enough to drop down the side of the bed and also cover the shams. Please be aware that this was not the case and fully opened, this bedspread bearly even covered the top of my bed. I didn't experiment but I doubt this bedspread would even completely cover a double bed, let alone a super king. The write up on the packaging is very misleading and I was left disappointed. I have since noticed that the write up on the web page is in complete contradiction and more realistic to that on the actual packaging when you are in store. Despite being the same company, I was staggered to find that I was unable to return the bedspread to my local M&S food store in Bicester (it has a ‘Click & ‘Collect’) and I had to travel all the way back to Banbury to return it. There was no quibble once at Banbury and I made the helpful staff aware of the fault. In my opinion, this item should be marketed as a decorative throw and not a bedspread.

Lovely quality but sizing a problem . Bedspread did not cover bed and hang to the floor , which was the effect I wanted . Colour purchased was described as blue but it's more sage really . There were no matching cushions in this colour which was a shame . I am afraid the bedspread will be returned as it's just too small even for a standard double bed .

Really nicely made, feels weighty but light and the design is gorgeous. Love it. Using it to cover the end of our bed and as a blanket for sleepless nights and the size is perfect for that, but as the previous reviewer mentioned it does not cover a king size bed if you want it draping all over - perhaps M&S could think about offering it in several sizes?

This bedspread is simply beautiful however, it states it will fit a Super King sized Bed. It is precisely the same width as a Super King sized Bed but a little shorter. Hence you do not get the true benefit of the scalloped edges. Such a shame because I love it and have even wondered what I could sew onto it to make it larger! Please M&S produce it in a larger size!

We have taken this bedspread back because it doesn't cover our pillows. It is not long enough! So we bought the cushions to go with it and because they are square and not oblong these do not cover our pillows either and look ridiculous. What this needs in my opinion would be oblong pillow shams to cover our pillows. These unfortunately are not available. If they become available we would be delighted to buy the bedspread again-hopefully with the twenty per cent discount on sparks. The bedspread is really pretty and I like that it shows the valance and does not come down to the floor.
