Not stretchy
These jeans aren't especially comfortable, as they have very little stretch. I didn't realise when I tried them on, but the first full wearing hurt the family jewels and constrain my legs generally. It's my fault for not realising they weren't the normal stretchy jeans, but these ones came up top of the M&S app so I assumed they were the ones that are everywhere in the shop. I had to try incredibly hard to find any of the numerous stretchy jeans. They don't appear at the top of the app results; and I couldn't find them scrolling down past all the other brands cluttering up the M&S app these days. In the end I had to filter by all M&S jeans to find the stretchy ones. Be warned or enjoy jeans with less give.

When they are good these jeans are very good but the fit is so inconsistent we’ve had some that are ridiculously different to others. M&S sizes used to be so reliable you could order online with confidence knowing they’d fit but not in the last few years I’m afraid.

I ordered these jeans based on a pair I bought a few years ago, that have been washed and faded to near the end of their life because I love then. Using the product code label, I was able to order online but my waist is 2 ins slimmer than before. This new size (inside leg remains the same) combo was not available so I asked the site to let me know if/when this item becomes available in the new size. It worked. Perfect!
