Checked Knee Length Skater Dress

As soon as I tried this dress on I knew it was "me". It's a comfortable fit which is great for me as I don't like anything tight, so fits good across my hips and doesn't pull across my tummy. The description states knee length but at 5ft 3ins I knew it would drop well below my knees but am happy with the length and have just about got away with it. Belt fits ok, material reasonable quality and fully lined which is a bonus. My only gripe - just wish there were some pockets in the side seam, but at 30% off I'm probably being a bit petty

This is a lovely dress, well fitting and well made. Soft and lightweight. I like the classic styling.

I bought this dress online, but unfortunately I had to take back. Being 5'3" this dress was too long for me personally and felt a little frumpy on. The fabric is nice and thick, its shame this dress wasn't for me.

Was drawn to this, although would have preferred it in a brighter colour. Looks great with my Autograph copper leather biker jacket! Can wear with thick tights and ankle boots but also with knee length boots. Agree with previous reviewer that a longer sleeve would have been better for an autumn/winter dress, but a bright cardigan over the top does the trick also. Bought on a discount offer. Not yet washed so can't comment on that.

Bought in the latest offer for work. Good stretchy material. Nice sleeve length. Slightly larger than average so the 10 fits great. It's a little long for my 5ft 3 frame but nothing heels won't sort. Love the swing of the skirt. Star removed as it should have pockets! Then it would be perfect!

It's very difficult finding a dress which fits when you wear a different size top to bottom. This dress fitted and would have made a perfect work dress. So imagine my disappointment when the belt didn't. I ordered at size 16 dress as I wear 16 top and 12-14 bottom. I think the belt was size 10-12 as I could not get it around my waist. When I returned it there were no more in stock and the helpful assistant suggested I wore the dress with another belt, which I did consider but as I don't own one which would match the dress I didn't want to have to buy a new belt when there should have been one with the dress.

Really love the soft subtle colour/pattern and the dress length is perfect for my want - it's smart and practical. But - Disappointed with the overall look on me - the waist a bit too low; belt loops questionable, skirt flare could be better cut?

So pleased with this dress - perfect fit and Ideal length. Also fully lined so great value.

I ordered this as my size wasn't available at the time at London Colney. At home I tried it on. Apart from the length which I knew I would have to shorten, I'm only 5'2", the bust was too low and wide, this wasn't helped buy the armholes. Just because we might have a large bust we don't need enormous armholes that start level with our bust. with them in the position made every time you moved your arm the dress bust shifted upwards, also short sleeves for autumn/winter fashion? Awful designing and sizing. Very disappointed , I understand we can't try items on as the moment but my local shop, Hemel Hempead. was completely devoid of dresses.

I took advice from previous reviews and ordered a smaller size 8 -instead of 10. It fits beautifully and it looks fabulous and far more expensive than it was. Well done M & S let us have more of this quality and style.

This is a gorgeous dress, fully lined, comfortable fabric and flattering, I loved it so much I brought it in Black too!

This dress is so flattering and well made. The skirt is lined. I am 5 ft 7 and the Long was a nice calf length. If there was one thing I'd have preferred it would be long sleeves as its fot autumn/Winter and will need a cardigan all the time.

Nice style, fits well. Long comes just below the knee which is perfect. Sleeve length coves the bits you don't want to show. Very smart with heels, worn it with trainers and white denim jacket as well...

This a very smart expensive looking dress. Loved it the length was mid calf for my 5,2 . Unfortunately had to send it back as I bought a size too small, Couldnt exchange as next size up was gone. Very sad
